2026 Machias Blueberry 5-Mile Run/Walk & 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center is proud to sponsor the 2026 Machias Blueberry 5-Mile Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk.
Join us as we raise funds to support the Down East Cancer Patient Navigation Program, which provides compassionate, effective support for individuals facing cancer. Through this program, patients receive assistance accessing treatment, resources, and services throughout their cancer journey.
Additional donations are greatly appreciated. All donations are tax-deductible.

Race Day Information
Race-day registration will be held at the Machias Valley Christian School Parking Lot, 118 Court Street, Machias, Maine, beginning at 6:00 AM and closing promptly at 7:00 AM. PLEASE NOTE: Packet pickup and registration close at 7:00 AM SHARP on race day. No exceptions can be made due to race timing, safety, and volunteer requirements.
5-Mile Run/Walk: Starts promptly at 8:00 AM
1-Mile Fun Run/Walk: Begins immediately following the start of the 5-mile race
Awards will be presented following the race in the Machias Valley Christian School parking lot.

Race Rules and Safety Requirements
Per insurance and safety requirements, headphones and pets are not permitted on the race course for either event.
Baby strollers are welcome on the 1-mile course; however, participants with strollers are to start at the back of the line for everyone's safety.
Health & Wellness Guidelines
Participants must be healthy to attend and participate. If you are feeling ill or experiencing symptoms of illness on race day, please do not attend the event. We appreciate your cooperation and consideration for fellow participants, volunteers, and staff.
Participants are encouraged to stay informed of the latest recommendations and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local health authorities.

Wild Blueberry 5 Mile Run
Event registration will be at the Hemmingway Annex (the old Machias town office), located at 50 Court Street in Machias, beginning at 6am. The 5-mile race begins promptly at 8am. Tha awards will be presented at 10:30 a.m. at the Hemmingway Annex on Court Street. Registration fees are as follows: 5-mile course: $25.00, or $30.00 on the day of the event. We encourage people of all ages to join in! Pre-register by July 22, 2016 to reserve your T-shirt size! The 5-mile loop is hilly and scenic, with mile splits at 1 and 3, with a fast downhill finish with many cheering spectators! Water at miles 2, 4, and the finish. Awards for 5-Mile: Top 3 female & male overall. Top female & male ages: 14 & under, 15-24, 25-40, 41-55, 56-70, & 71 & older. Also 1st Walker &1st Wheelchair. Team Awards: 1st & 2nd teams. Teams MUST pre-register by 4pm on August 16th. An unlimited number of runners/walkers may register as a team. Top 3 score by place of finish. Ties are determined by fastest cumulative times. FOR INSURANCE AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS, NO HEADPHONES or PETS ALLOWED ON THE RACE COURSE FOR EITHER RACE. Baby Strollers are allowed on the 1 mile course, please start in the back.
