Long Island’s Gold Coast has a rich history of triathlon at the Town of North Hempstead Beach Park—and thanks to the support of the Town of North Hempstead, Race Awesome is bringing it back!
At Race Awesome, we never settle for the status quo. That’s why we’ve redesigned the bike course and introduced an all-new run course to elevate the experience. In addition to the Age Group Sprint Triathlon, we’re proud to host the Northeast’s only draft-legal race for high school and collegiate athletes.

Individual High School Triathlon
The GREAT GATSBY TRIATHLON presented by the Town of North Hempstead. AGE 11-19 COURSE DESCRIPTION:- 500 METER SWIM 11 MILE BIKE COURSE ON CLOSED ROADS. 3.1 MILE RUN ON PARK PATHS.
AquaBike
The AQUABIKE race sees athletes only do the swim and bike portions of the Triathlon event.
Relay Adult Triathlon
The GREAT GATSBY TRIATHLON presented by the Town of North Hempstead. COURSE DESCRIPTION:- 500 METER SWIM 11 MILE BIKE COURSE ON CLOSED ROADS. 3.1 MILE RUN ON PARK PATHS.
High School Relay Triathlon
The High School Relay should consist of Two or 3 High School aged (11-18) athlete. Max Relay Team size is 3 people. The GREAT GATSBY TRIATHLON presented by the Town of North Hempstead. COURSE DESCRIPTION:- 500 METER SWIM 11 MILE BIKE COURSE ON CLOSED ROADS. 3.1 MILE RUN ON PARK PATHS.
FAMILY Relay (Adult & High School)
The Family Relay should consist of One or Two Adults and One or Two High School aged (14-18) athlete. Max Relay Team size is 3 people.
