About this race
The Redding Marathon is a Boston qualifying marathon to be held on January 17, 2027.Enjoy a point to point race on paved "river trails" that wind their way along the Sacramento River. "Shasta Dam to the Sundial Bridge" also includes a 3 person marathon relay and the Sundial 5k for all ages!
Bus transportation to the start of the Marathon relay will be very limited in 2027. Stay tuned for more information.
Join fellow runners on January 18, 2026 for the The Redding Marathon Events. It's a fantastic Marathon, 5K featuring a flat and fast course in Redding.

Redding Marathon
The Redding Marathon will take you over Shasta Dam, through an old railroad tunnel and across the historic Diestelhorst Bridge, the Ribbon Suspension Bridge and onto the Sundial Bridge and your finish line. Enjoy the scenic Boston qualifier as you work you way down the paved Sacramento River Trail to the famous Sundial Bridge. All participants receive a long sleeve Q Zip tech shirt.
Redding Marathon Relay
The Price covers the full team. The Redding Marathon Relay is a 3 person relay that follows the same course as the full marathon does. All participants receive a long sleeve Q Zip tech shirt. Leg 1-9.7 Miles Leg 2 10.3 Leg 3 - 6.2
Sundial 5k
The Sundial 5k is put on in conjunction with the Marathon events. Family members can participate in the short race while waiting for their runners to cross the finish line. The 5k starts and finishes at the Sundial Bridge Marathon. Age group awards and music will greet you as you cross the finish. Long Sleeve Tech shirts are an optional choice when registering. Children 13 and under are free. Long sleeve event shirts will be for sale at $20.00 each
