The Trumbull Sunset Run has an amazing history since its start in the 80’s.
The Trumbull Rotary is preparing to host one of the oldest runs in the area & invites you to join them.
We appreciate the support and cooperation from the Trumbull Parks and Rec Department
and the Town of Trumbull to bring you this great, family event.
ALL VETERANS AND CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE US. MILITARY CAN RUN FOR FREE

That course has some rolling hills in the first half. The second half is a net downhill and completely flat the last half mile. There is a water stop at 1.7miles.Event calendar

July 30 - TRUMBULL PUBLIC LIBRARY 4-6:30pm SHARP! early pickup bib, shirt, swag- get it done and avoid the next day's stress!
July 31 - It's event evening!
5:00 pm pickup bib, shirt, swag on site at the park
6:15 pm Free kids run- directed by Donna Cramond! (Don't miss her warm up)
6:30 pm Start 5K run, walk followed by snacks & awards
There is no paper/cash registration at any time for these events.

Awards for top 3 in age groups 9 & under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Race management & course logistics- Marty Schaivone, MS Running Productions Computer bib-chip timing by Startline Race Services. Registrants will receive a T-shirt (size guaranteed when signed up by July 19). ANY SIGN UPS AFTER THAT WILL RECEIVE A SHIRT IF AVAILABLE.
THIS EVENT IS A TRUE BENEFIT TO THE COMMUNITY
The money we raise at this race is used to support local organizations and events like the annual dictionary project for our Trumbull 3rd graders, Trumbull Senior Citizens Fall Leaf Clean-Up, Scholarships for Trumbull High School Seniors, Trumbull Post Prom, Trumbull Mc2 Robotics, Trumbull Junior Achievement, Trumbull HS Mock Trial Team, Trumbull Arts Commission, a fall picnic for our Trumbull senior citizens as well as regional organizations like Homes For the Brave, The Center For Family Justice, Hall House, and the Thomas Merton House. In addition, we give out grants to many local and regional organizations.
Join fellow runners on July 26, 2019 for the The Trumbull Rotary Sunset 5k Run & Walk. It's a fantastic 5K, 1.6K, Trumbull Sunset Kids Run featuring a flat and fast course in Trumbull.

Trumbull Rotary 5K Sunset Run
Consistent with the running industry standard all entry fees are NON-refundable and cannot be deferred toward a future event. Bib numbers are NON-transferable. The selling and/or giving away of a bib number is not allowed and will result in disqualification of both the original bib owner and the runner using the bib number. Both runners will be prohibited from participation in this event. Transferring or accepting another bib not only delays our emergency services, it also effects the results of every participant. Severe Weather & Cancellation Policy -This event is being held rain or shine. Weather forecasts are tracked for heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, snow, etc. If there is a possibility of threatening weather, information will be posted on our web site and social media pages to alert participants of possible changes. We will also do our best to send an e-blast to all pre-registered that have supplied us with a viable email address. Severe weather or a forecast to become severe during the event could change the race start time. This event could be postponed or cancelled. No Refunds given if the event is delayed, postponed, or cancelled due to severe weather or by direction of Facility Directors, Park Services, Police, or State Officials.
Trumbull Sunset Virtual 5K Run or Walk
Thank you for joining in our charity efforts with the Trumbull Rotary. Your shirt and certificate will arrive prior to race day. Our virtual run is designed for those who can’t be with us but are supportive of the Trumbull Rotary and all it does for the Community. We thank you for your support and will mail your shirt and bib to you.
Trumbull Sunset Kids Run
Our free, non competitive fun run is designed for kids 6th grade and under. The loop course within the park is visible to all spectators and adjacent to our registration area. All finishers receive ribbons of participation and snacks will be available. YOU CAN ACCOMPANY YOUR CHILD IF NECESSARY BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REGISTER IN THE KIDS RUN. Please only register children 12 years and younger.
Walking
Trumbull Rotary Sunset Health Walk
Our free walk is NOT timed and designed for everyone who would like to participate in a one mile health walk.This free event is open to all adults and children. It will begin with the start of the 5k run. Walkers will walk on the course, go back around the rotary, and return on the same path around the pond as the Runners. The health walk continues around the perimeter of the field and ends “under the trees” where you can gather to cheer on the runners at the finish line. If your child is going to walk, stroll, or get pushed in a stroller with you during this health walk you DO NOT need to register them for this event.
