The Valley Bottom Rio Trio
About this race
Alamosa Parks and Recreation will be hosting the 6th annual “Valley Bottom Rio Trio”; an adventure-style triathlon race within the City of Alamosa! This fully chip-timed race will feature an 8-mile trail bike ride, a 3-mile paddle on the Rio Grande, and a 5k+ run. Participants will be given the option of doing all three legs of the race solo or as part of a 3-person relay team. Bring your own boat or rent a kayak or standup paddleboard from us (limited quantities available)! This year's race will take place on the morning of Saturday, June 6th. An outdoor awards ceremony and lunch will be served by local food vendors following the race. This year's event will also be a part of the city's Riofest, which includes live music, craft vendors, food, beer, and an outdoor expo.
A kids' race will be offered on June 7th, 9:30am at Blanca Vista Pond.

Solo Male
Includes race registration, lunch, and event shirt at an additional cost. Solo minimum age = 15 years old.
Solo Female
Includes race registration, lunch, and event shirt. Solo minimum age = 15 years old.
Co-Ed/Female Relay Team
Includes race registration, lunch, and event shirts at an additional charge At least one female on team (3 female team members permitted) Must have 3 team members Minimum age = 13
Family Relay Team
Includes race registration, lunch, and event shirt at an additional charge. Must have 3 team members Team must have 1 adult and 1 under 19. Minimum age = 10 (participants ages 10-12 must be accompanied by an adult) At least two team members must be family by blood or marriage. This includes; spouses, siblings, cousins, parent/child, aunt/uncle, grandparent/grandchild etc. No gender restrictions
Teen Relay Team
Includes race registration, lunch, and event shirt at an additional charge. Must have 3 team members All team members must be between the ages of 12-19 No gender restrictions
