About this race

Miles for Wendy Every Mile Carries Her Legacy Forward
We run to honor her memory. We raise funds to carry her mission forward. We make every mile count.

On January 9, 2027, Juan Carlos Martinez and Keith Fernandez will take on the Walt Disney World Half Marathon in honor of Wendy Martinez—a remarkable woman whose passion for leadership, technology, community, and running continues to inspire meaningful change.

But this journey is about more than 13.1 miles. It's about turning remembrance into action and creating opportunities that make a lasting difference.

Through the Wendy Martinez Legacy Project (TWMLP), we are committed to advancing three pillars that reflect Wendy's life and values:

Developing Future Latino Leaders: Creating opportunities through scholarships, mentorship, and partnerships that empower the next generation to lead and succeed.

Empowering Women in Technology: Supporting women pursuing careers in technology by expanding access to education, professional development, and meaningful connections.

Promoting Safety Through Running: Advocating for safer communities, raising awareness, and encouraging everyone to run with confidence and without fear.

Our Goal: $12,000. Our Purpose: Lasting Impact.

Together, JC and Keith have committed to raising $12,000 to help TWMLP expand its programs, strengthen community partnerships, and create more opportunities through scholarships and safety initiatives.

Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to making that vision a reality.

When you give, you're doing more than supporting two runners. You're investing in future leaders, opening doors for women in technology, and helping build communities where everyone can pursue their passions without fear.

Wendy's miles may have ended, but her legacy continues through every life we touch.

Join us. Support the mission. Help us turn every mile into impact.

Donate today and help carry Wendy's legacy forward.

Thank you for being part of the Wendy Martinez Legacy Project.
