Tortoise Trot 5K Walk/Run
A 5k-ish trail run/walk starting and finishing at the Visitor Center, the scenic Tortoise Trot course gives you a 360 degree view of one of Southern Nevada’s most spectacular vistas. Part road, part trail, this event encompasses the Moenkopi loop and will be scenic and fun for the whole family. Participants 5 to11 years old must be accompanied by an adult for safety. No on-course jogging strollers or dogs are permitted. The run is not timed and is limited to 300 runners or walkers, so register early and save your spot for a memorable morning in the canyon!
Tortoise Trail Run (17K)
New this year, the Tortoise Trail Run is a 17K trail run starting and finishing at the Visitor Center. Designed for runners looking for a longer challenge, the scenic course features rugged desert trails, portions of the scenic drive, and expansive views of Red Rock Canyon.
This event is run only (no walking) and is not timed, but participants should plan to finish within the 3-hour time limit. For safety, no jogging strollers or dogs are permitted. Participation is limited to 50 runners, so register early to secure your spot for this exciting inaugural run in the canyon!

5k Trail Run/Walk
A scenic, family-friendly walk/run starting and finishing at the Visitor Center, this part road, part trail route follows the Moenkopi Loop and offers 360-degree views of Red Rock Canyon.
Virtual 5k
Support Friends of Red Rock Canyon even if you are not able to attend the race in person. Participate in spirit and run/walk your virtual 5K anywhere, at any time you like by October 10, 2026. We will mail your medal to you with great appreciation and give you a shout-out at our 5K for supporting our organization!
Trail running
Tortoise Trail Run (17K)
New this year, this runners-only course starts and finishes at the Visitor Center, combines rugged desert trails with portions of the scenic drive, and has a 3-hour time limit.
