About the Event
Looking for a way to experience the pumpkins like never before? This 5k run puts Main Street center stage as participants race through Newcastle and Damariscotta's historic buildings and gigantic gourds. Anyone can enter the event and take part in a spectacular celebration of the Twin Villages: from experienced runners looking for a personal best time, to parents pushing the little one in a stroller. Another way to take part is to come into town to cheer on the racers while enjoying a coffee and breakfast pastry.
Join fellow runners on October 12, 2026 for the Tour de Gourd. It's a fantastic 5K, 3K featuring a flat and fast course in Newcastle.

Chip Timing. 5k is just over 3 miles. The initial segment goes through the downtown with a road closure in place. The remainder is on quiet back streets. The finish is downtown Damariscotta, about 0.25 miles from the start.
