About this race

Join us for a spectacularly scenic open water experience as we swim and explore one of the most idyllic aquatic settings in the Caribbean.

Our US Virgin Islands Swim Camp will feature daily open water swim sessions at one of the most stunning venues in the world.
Although swims will be tailored to your level of speed, stamina, and skill, Week 1 will focus on beginners, those who have not previously completed an open water swim longer than 1 mile.  During Week 1, we will focus on swim safety, basic swim form, and we'll work on comfortability in the water.  Most swims will stay within the beach cove area and will range between 400-800 meters.  Swimmers looking for a bigger challenge may work their way up to longer distances throughout the week.
**Note: If you're looking for longer distances, or multi-sport focus, we have Week 2 (advanced swimmers) and Week 3 (multisport focus) available.  If you're only available on this particular week, we're happy to work with your specific needs as well.  From novice swimmers to advanced competitors, all are welcome.  There is no speed or time requirement as long as you swim safely without assistance.

Trip highlights will include multiple daily bay/sea swims at various different points of the island and transportation to and from, as needed.  Campers should bring a New Wave Swim Buoy or tow float of your choice.  Many of the excursions will include a short off-road hike and a swim back to the starting point.  Tow floats should be able to carry what you've used for the hike, including, but not limited to: footwear, sun protection, hydration.  Swims will be led by US National champion marathon swimmer, John Kenny.  Don't worry, John will make sure that no swimmers are left behind!  The island is full of sea life and it's quite common to see sea turtles, sting rays, octopus, tropical fish, starfish, and so much more.

Daily meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) will also be provided for all campers.  Camp price includes all room and board, plus up to 3 restaurant meals.  Additionally, we'll take advantage of unique activities and glorious sights offered on the island.  Accommodations are included with the price on a shared occupancy basis. Lodging is at Concordia Eco Resort in St. John, USVI.  The price includes twin/full sleeping arrangements with up to 4-5 campers in a tree house / eco cabin which will not be climate controlled.  Air conditioned "Villa" options have been added as well, and single occupancy can also be arranged. Double villa occupancy assumes a couple sharing a bed (or other single bed arrangement) Contact John Kenny for more details at John@frenchcreekracing.com.

Cost of flight from city of origination not included.  We will provide ground transportation for anyone who arrives and departs within our allotted time window.  Arrive at the St. Thomas Airport (STT) between 12 Noon and 3PM on Monday February 2.  Depart from STT airport between 10AM and 2PM on Saturday February 7.  Please note that these are local times, Atlantic Standard Time Zone (AST).  Rental carpool transit and ferry cost will only be covered if arriving during this window of time.
