What is Dream Mile?
The Dream Mile is Vibha’s flagship fundraiser event, with the anticipated participation of 1,000 patrons from across the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Vibha volunteers have been organizing this run/walk event for more than 25 years and it has become a permanent fixture on the calendars of runners and families in various cities across the Bay Area.
The funds raised through the Dream Mile go towards supporting child development projects in India and the USA. Our mission is to transform the quality of public education by scaling proven models of Motivation, Learning, Training & Technology. In addition to our projects in India, the Dream Mile will support local beneficiaries of the Dream Mile host cities like the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, The International Community School Georgia, Inspiredu, Communities In Schools Chicago, and School on Wheels, Massachusetts. Over the years, the The Dream Mile has raised more than $3 Million that has gone to support more than 180,000 children.

The Dream Mile is for anyone who would like to walk or run a few miles to help realize the dreams of millions of underprivileged children.

What are the Race Distances?
The Dream Mile 2026 consists of 5K, 10K, and HM running/walking events
Highlights:
- 5K/10K/Half Marathon courses
- Professional chip-based timing
- Half Marathon Pacers for 7 different pace groups to help achieve your HM PR
- T-shirts for all registered participants (unless you opt out)
- Finisher medals for all distances for registered participants
* In case the in-person event is canceled due to any unforeseen circumstances, the event will be held virtually. No refunds will be provided.
Registration information:
The online registration will be open till Sunday, September 6th, 2026. Please register by August 8th to guarantee your t-shirt size choice. After that, the t-shirt size is based on availability.
We highly recommend you register online by Friday, Sept. 4th, to avoid disappointment due to race day registration unavailability due to your choice of race distance selling out. Only if there are any open spots left at the close of the online registration, we will offer registrations at the race packet pickup and the race day morning up to 30 minutes before the race starts.
Up to 10 participants can register together in a single registration transaction. For more than 10 participants registering together, please do multiple registration transactions.

Running
Virtual Walk/Run
Choose the VIRTUAL option and you can do any of the following activities: Virtual 5 Kilometer Virtual 10 Kilometers Virtual 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon) Run your race on your own or with your friends - any day, anywhere, anytime - between now and race day. Email proof of completion to dreammile@bayarea.vibha.org Pick up your medal and t-shirt(if opted) at one of the bib distribution locations.
Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
This event is for participants who are ages 13 and over as of race date. You can opt-out of getting a Race T-Shirt. An adult who has also registered for the event should accompany minor participants.
10K Walk/Run
This event is for participants who are ages 8 and over as of race date. You can opt-out of getting a Race T-Shirt. An adult who has also registered for the event should accompany minor participants.
5K Walk/Run
This event is for participants who are ages 6 and over as of race date. You can opt-out of getting a Race T-Shirt. An adult who has also registered for the event should accompany minor participants.
HM Walk/Run
This event is for participants who are ages 13 and over as of race date. You can opt-out of getting a Race T-Shirt. An adult who has also registered for the event should accompany minor participants.
10K Walk/Run
This event is for participants who are ages 6 and over as of race date. You can opt-out of getting a Race T-Shirt. An adult who has also registered for the event should accompany minor participants.
5K Walk/Run
This event is for participants who are ages 4 and over as of race date. You can opt-out of getting a Race T-Shirt. An adult who has also registered for the event should accompany minor participants.
Virtual Walk/Run
Run or walk on your own schedule, whenever it's convenient for you — then share your results with us via email. Race goodies (medal and/or t-shirt) can be picked up on bib pickup days, or shipped directly to you for a shipping and handling fee.
'Grand' Relay
This is a 200 meters relay for the grandparents and grandchildren. This event is open to one grandparent (grandmother or grandfather) and one grandchild (boy or girl). Teams of two will complete the relay together, with the grandparent covering 100 m and the grandchild covering 100m.
Kids Run
This is a fun event category is for kids between ages 3 to 12 in 3 age groups for both boys and girls Ages 3 - 5 Ages 6 - 8 Ages 9 - 12 The distance is 100 meters. Kids can participate in 1 or all 3 events with the same registration: 1. Lemon and Spoon 2. Sack Race 3. Single Legged Race
