About the Event
Volunteering is a great way to be part of the weekend without all the sweating, blisters or sore legs!
Join fellow runners on June 20, 2026 for the VOLUNTEER Missoula Marathon Weekend of Events Signup. It's a fantastic 5K featuring a flat and fast course in Missoula.
Races Offered
Running
UM Prep for the 5K 12:30pm-2:30pm [F]
Move UM decoration from Bartley Hall to Oval. Then decorate the Oval for the 5k. NOTE: some lifting required around 20lbs.
5K Start+Finish Setup/Teardown 6am - 10am
Assist race directors with set up of both Start and Finish line of 5K. NOTE: Some lifting is involved.
5K Course Monitors 7am - 10am
Ensure runners follow the marked course and communicate with cars when to stop.
5K Aid Station 7:30am - 10am
Hand out water to runners as they go by. Contact medical if other assistance is needed.
5K Sweepers 7:30am - 10am
Follow the last runners/walkers of the 5K in and let course monitors know that everyone has come through the course.
5K & Kids Marathon Finish Water Attendant 7:30am - 11am
Help fill and refill water jugs at finish line for both 5K and Kids race.
5K Bike Lead 7:30am - 8:30am
Lead runners through the 5K course.
5k Bike Monitor/Hand cycle escort
Provide escort for hand cycle through 5K course.
5K Medal Distribution 7:30am - 10am
Hand out medals at finish line of the 5K.
UM 5K Cheering & Tear Down 7:30am-10am
Arrive early to Oval, ensure decorations are set. Cheer on 5K runners as they pass. Tear down decorations and return to Bartley Hall. NOTE: Some lifting required - around 20lbs.
