Join the Eta Nu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. for our 2nd annual “Walk With Me Sugar” 5K Run/Walk Against Diabetes — presented by ELB Philanthropy — a vibrant celebration of culture, health, and hope.
This FREE community event invites you to lace up your shoes and walk with purpose as we raise awareness about the devastating impact of diabetes—particularly within the African American community. Inspired by a term of endearment rooted in Black cultural tradition, “Walk With Me Sugar” honors our heritage, our loved ones, and our collective fight for wellness.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking to push your limits, this timed route is a great way to get active while supporting a powerful cause. All runners will receive a commemorative race medal at the finish line to celebrate their achievement.
5K Walk
Prefer a more relaxed pace? The 5K walk is perfect for individuals, families, and friends to come together, enjoy the day, and support diabetes awareness. Walk in honor of a loved one or simply for your own health journey—every step counts! All 5K walkers will receive a commemorative race medal at the finish line to celebrate their achievement.
1 Mile Walk
Want to take it easy? Join us for the 1-mile walk—perfect for families, kids, and supporters of all ages. It's a great way to come together, have fun, and show your support for a healthier community.
Virtual 5K Run/Walk
Can’t join us in person? No problem—you can still be part of the movement! Our Virtual 5K Run/Walk lets you support the Walk With Me Sugar mission from anywhere. Complete your 5K (3.1 miles) at your own pace, in your neighborhood, at the gym, or on your favorite trail on August 23, 2025. Share your photos, tag us on social media, and celebrate your accomplishment alongside our in-person participants. Walk or run wherever you are—your participation helps raise awareness, inspire others, and support the Columbus Free Clinic.
