West Michigan Harriers Summer Run Club

This is a summer training group for high school cross country runners (grades 9-12) in the greater Grand Rapids area. This is not a group for adults. We typically meet 2 days a week for group training sessions that include hill workouts, tempo runs (lactate threshold), or long runs during the months of June, July and August. Coach Jackson Fox (USATF Level 2 Certified Coach and Cross Country Specialist) will organize and supervise training groups based on current fitness levels and experience. Practice information will be sent out weekly via email to participants that are registered. Please note that there are a few dates during the summer that we will not have practice which will be communicated via email. 

The tentative meeting locations are below. Any changes in location will be sent out via email.

Monday Hill Sessions at Johnson Park, 2600 Wilson Ave., Walker, MI 49534 - We will meet in the parking lot off Butterworth Street which is just to the East of Wilson Avenue . Practice will typically start at 8:00am and end at approximately 9:30am.

Wednesday Tempo Run Sessions at Riverside Park, 2001 Monroe Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505 - We will meet in the parking lot near the intersection of Guild Street NE and Monroe Ave. NE. Practice will typically start at 8:00am and end at approximately 9:30am.

We may make adjustments to the start and end times of workouts due to extreme heat. We will cancel practices if we are experiencing extreme weather conditions.
