50M
We are seeing more and more hikers come out to our events - that’s why we are starting this race at 7am on Saturday giving you 36 hours to finish! This is a great first 50 miler for the newbies and a squatchtastic one for the veterans who are looking for a runnable course. A pacer can join you at sunset and stay with you until the end of the event. 5,272 ft gain and 5,240 ft loss Checkered Loop (4.75M) + Blue Loop (6M) + Pink Loop (7.75M) repeated twice to total 37 miles and then complete the Blue Loop (6 miles) and the Pink Loop (7.75M) once more to finish with 50.75 miles.
100K
There are very few 100K’s in the northeast and even fewer that are hiker friendly. We are starting this race at 7am on Saturday so you have a full 36 hours to finish. You don’t have to worry about chasing cutoffs! A pacer can join you at sunset and stay with you until the end of the event. 6,476 ft gain and 6,498 ft loss Pink Loop (7.75M) + Checkered Loop (4.75M) + Blue Loop (6M) + Pink Loop (7.75M)+ Checkered Loop (4.75M) repeated twice to total = 62 miles
100M
WILD GOOSE 100 - okay, so what’s with the name, Wild Goose? We’re so glad you asked... One of the possible meanings of the park name Wawayanda is… WAWA= “wild goose” and YANDA= “the way of”... “The way of the wild goose.” We couldn’t think of a better name for this hundo. You’ll no doubt see plenty of wild geese hanging out at Wawayanda Lake! With the race course staying open for 36 hours, you’re not going to be chasing cutoffs – we only have one cutoff for mile 92.5! We don’t care how long the first 92.5 miles take you and we don’t want you to be stressed about your pace. A lot can happen over 36 hours; only having 1 cutoff at mile 92.5 gives you every opportunity to finish this race and recover if any setbacks come your way. You’ll be well-supported at this hundo with a rockin’ aid station that will be open all 36 hours. Our Volunteer Dream Team will help you get that FINISH, so don’t feel like you have to have a Crew with you. A pacer can join you at sunset and stay with you until the end of the event. 11,275 ft gain and 11,239 ft loss Start with the Pink Loop (7.75M). Then complete the Checkered Loop (4.75M) + Blue Loop (6M) + Pink Loop (7.75M) 5 times to finish with 100.25 miles.
36H
The beauty of a timed event is that you can run/hike as much or as little as you want; once you start, there are no DNFs! If you want to do 100M and it’s your first attempt at the distance, we encourage you to opt for the 36H event rather than the 100M race. The same goes for folks who are on the fence on whether or not they can definitely complete 100M. Take the pressure out of the equation and sign up for 36H! The timed races will be using the same course as the distance events and will complete the loops in the prescribed order of Pink, Checkered, Blue. Your final loop must be completed before time runs out, or that last one doesn’t count towards your total mileage. We have specific cut-off times for Pink/Checkered/Blue (see schedule below). A pacer can join you at sunset and stay with you until the end of the event. All participants in the timed events will complete the course in the following order for the entire duration of the event: in Pink Loop (7.75M) → Checkered Loop (4.75M) → Blue Loop (6M). The final loop only counts if it is completed before time runs out.
