About this race
Welcome to Witch Paddle, Colorado’s most magical morning on the water.
Each fall, hundreds of witches, warlocks, paddleboarders, kayakers, and magical misfits gather before sunrise for a one-of-a-kind paddle across the lake. Dressed in flowing black cloaks, pointed hats, and creative costumes, participants launch together as the morning mist lifts, creating an unforgettable sight on the water.
What started as a small gathering of 80 witches has grown into a sold-out community celebration with 400+ paddlers, spectators, vendors, music, costumes, and plenty of witchy fun.
Witch Paddle isn’t just about the paddle. It’s about connection, creativity, community, and giving back.

Witch Paddle is hosted in support of Sacred Sisterhood Collective Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to child safety, women-led community care, and healing-centered programs for women, children, and families.
Proceeds and donations help support child-safety partners, family-wellness initiatives, and the launch of Sacred Sisterhood Collective’s first local programs.
Whether you’re an experienced paddler or just here for the magic, Witch Paddle is an unforgettable way to celebrate the season while supporting a meaningful cause.

2026 Witch Paddle
Who Can Participate Witch Paddle is open to paddleboarders and kayakers of all experience levels. This is a fun community paddle, not a race. Participants should be comfortable paddling on open water and capable of returning to shore independently. Costumes Encouraged Witches, warlocks, and magical creatures of all kinds are welcome. Costumes are highly encouraged and are part of the fun, but please make sure they allow for safe movement while paddling. Equipment Participants must bring their own paddleboard or kayak, paddle, and Coast Guard–approved personal flotation device (PFD). A limited number of rental boards may be available through local partners (details announced closer to the event). Weather Policy Witch Paddle takes place rain or shine. In the event of severe weather or unsafe water conditions, event organizers may delay, modify, or cancel the paddle for safety. Arrival & Launch Time Participants will receive final event details, launch times, and parking instructions via email prior to the event. We recommend arriving early to allow time for check-in, costume adjustments, and getting your board to the launch area. Community & Cause Witch Paddle is a community fundraising event supporting Sacred Sisterhood Collective, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating safe spaces for women and families through connection, healing, and empowerment programs.
