About this race

April Is When YaraStar Moves.

April 1–30, 2026 | Virtual Challenge | Walk. Run. Anywhere.

A marathon is 26.2 miles. Most people think it requires one exhausting day.
We believe it requires something more powerful: consistency.

This April, join the YaraStar Foundation community for a virtual movement challenge that helps you build discipline — and helps children receive the steady support they need to thrive.

The Challenge

Complete 26.2 miles in 30 days.
Your pace. Your schedule. Your location.

That’s less than a mile a day — and it adds up the same way real progress does: step by step.

 Why We Move

April 1 marks both the day we remember Yara and the day YaraStar Foundation began.

What could have remained a moment of grief became a commitment to move forward with purpose. Each year, when April comes around, we choose to mark it the same way: we move.

Your participation helps fund scholarships, therapy support, and inclusive programs for the children we serve.

Our 2026 Goal

This year, we are raising $15,000.

Reaching this goal will allow us to:

  • Extend scholarships to at least 10 students
  • Provide school supplies and outreach support to at least 30 additional children.

Clear goals create clear impact. Every mile and every gift moves us closer.

This Challenge Is Built Around Three Commitments

Build Discipline.
Share Commitment.
Fund Futures.

You’re not only completing miles — you’re strengthening consistency, inviting accountability, and helping fuel access for children who need it most.

How It Works

  1. Register for Marathon in a Month 2026.
  2. Set your plan (a little each day works).
  3. Move anytime, anywhere from April 1–30.
  4. Track your miles your own way (watch/app/journal—your choice).
  5. Become a fundraiser and invite your people into your journey.

Ready to Go Further? Become a Fundraiser

Fundraising is how your miles become support.

When you become a fundraiser, you’ll get your own personal page to share with friends and family. Many people don’t reach goals because they try to do it alone. This is your built-in accountability — and it creates impact at the same time.

Click “Become a Fundraiser” after you register to set up your page.

Fundraiser Recognition

We celebrate consistency and community effort throughout the month, including:

  • Weekly shout-outs
  • Fundraiser milestones and badges
  • Featured stories from participants
  • A digital participation certificate for finishers

Dates & Registration

Challenge Dates: April 1–30, 2026

Where the Funds Go

YaraStar Foundation was born from love, grief, and a refusal to look away. We serve children with special needs and those facing educational poverty because every child carries a unique light.

Your participation in this Marathon in a Month challenge helps sustain therapy, scholarships and inclusive programs that keep children & their families moving forward.

Four Ways to Partner

Not everyone can walk the full distance — and that’s okay. There are multiple ways to stand with this mission:

Give. Serve. Pray. Share.
