Viking Snowshoe Invasion 5k or 1 Mile Downhill Dash

Get ready to charge the mountain at The Viking Snowshoe Invasion! Join the Vernon Township Board of Recreation at Mountain Creek on Saturday, January 27, 2018 for this fun filled snow activity and challenge the best of your winter skills! Ride the cab up to the top of the mountain and then choose to tromp out a 5k or master a one mile downhill dash. Either event is sure to keep you warm on even the chilliest of days! Spectators can gather by the outdoor fireplaces and cheer their viking on as they make their way down the mountain! Plenty of hot cocoa will be on hand for everyone! Visit www.vernontwp.com for more information or paper registrations. The base registration fee is $30 to BYOS (bring your own shoes). Don’t have snowshoes? We are happy to offer the option to purchase a pair of TUBBS snowshoes with your registration at a discounted price of $50 (plus the base registration fee). Don’t wait though - you MUST register by 1/25/18 for this option. Snowshoes are in and can be picked up at the Recreation Department anytime or shoes & race packet will be available for pickup on Friday, January 26th at The Vernon Senior Center from 5pm–7pm. On Saturday, January 27th, registration begins at 8:00am in the Biergarten at Red Tail Lodge. Registration includes a ride to the top of the mountain for participants, with the race starting at 10:00 am.
