🧟 Cherokee High School Zombie 5K – Run for Your Life!
Survive 3.1 miles with the course crawling with zombies.
Join us Saturday, October 24th at 6:00 PM at the Cherokee High School Track for the Cherokee High School Zombie 5K! This Halloween-themed race combines a traditional 5K with a fun zombie survival challenge to raise money for the Cherokee High School Senior Class and Cross Country Team.
Runners who choose the Zombie Challenge will start the race with “lives” represented by flags. Along the course, you'll encounter designated Zombie Zones, where our zombies will try to steal your flags as you make your escape. Make it to the finish line with at least one flag remaining and you’ve survived the outbreak!
Don't want to be chased? No problem! Participants may run or walk the 5K without taking part in the Zombie Challenge.

Our zombies will follow strict safety rules—no tackling, grabbing, pushing, or blocking runners. They're only after your flags!

🧟 Zombie Challenge Rules Want the full Zombie 5K experience? Choose the Zombie Challenge and try to make it through our Zombie Zones with at least one life remaining! Runners participating in the challenge will receive flags representing their “lives.” Zombies will be stationed only in designated areas throughout the course and will attempt to take your flags as you pass through. For everyone's safety: Zombies may only take flags—no grabbing, pushing, tackling, or blocking runners. Runners may dodge zombies but must remain on the course. Zombies will only chase runners within designated Zombie Zones. Please do not make physical contact with the zombies. Once you're out of a Zombie Zone, you're safe... until the next one. Lose all your flags? Keep running! You can still finish the 5K—you've just been infected. 🧟 Make it to the finish with at least one flag and you're officially a SURVIVOR! Don't want to be chased? No problem. Select the traditional 5K option and enjoy the same course without participating in the Zombie Challenge. The goal is simple: RUN. SURVIVE. HAVE FUN.
