About this race
Building Change is hosting their 8th annual 22 Strong walk to honor and support United States Military veterans. The number 22 is significant to the event because it represents the average number of veterans who lose their lives to suicide every day. Building Change is dedicated to eliminating veterans suicide. In seven years of the 22 Strong walk, Building Change has donated over $400,000 to local and national organizations that directly impact veterans.

22 Strong 22-Day Challenge (Virtual Option)
This event spans 22 days to represent the average of 22 veterans who lose their lives to suicide every day. We are challenging you to walk or run each day tracking your miles, then report your miles to our website. This year, we have added a TEAM option. Incentives: Consistency weekly prizes and grand prize & most miles walked as a team
Walking
22-Mile Walk (In-Person Option) - LONG
Building Change is back for the 5th annual 22 Strong event series. Walk up to 22 miles for veterans on September 16 with our team. There are rest stops that will provide food, drink, and toilets along the route to keep everyone fueled/hydrated. Shuttles will meet walkers at any of the six (6) rest stops if they would like to tap out at any point. You are invited to stay after the walk for food, refreshments, speakers, and raffles.
2.2-Mile Walk (In-Person Option) - SHORT
Building Change is back for the 5th annual 22 Strong event series. Walk 2.2 miles for veterans on September 16 with our team. The designated route will be on trail/sidewalk (no streets!). You are invited to stay after the walk for food, refreshments, speakers, and raffles.
