Barbara Schmidt Millar Women's Triathlon & 5K: Celebrating Life, Empowering Women
About this race
Celebrating Life, Empowering Women
We are back in action, Sunday, September 18th, 2022!
The 27th annual Barbara Schmidt Millar Women's Triathlon & 5K is a sprint triathlon exclusively for female athletes age 18 and older. Traditionally hosted on the third Sunday in September at beautiful Scott's Flat Lake in Nevada City, this event has been empowering women for nearly three decades! Our fundraising mission remains the same: 100 percent of the net proceeds from this event support outreach, diagnosis, and breast health care through Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. The triathlon features a 1/2 mile swim, 11-mile bike ride, and 3.1-mile run. Athletes compete either as individuals or as part of two or three-woman triathlon relay team. Or, join us for the 5k run/walk event along the same course. 5k run/walk is open to women 13 years and older.
The event benefits the Barbara Schmidt Millar Memorial fund at the Women's Imaging Center of Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital (SNMH). In addition, a scholarship has been established in her honor, which is awarded to female high school graduates in Nevada County pursuing an education in healthcare.
**Please note, that there will be no new registrations on the day of the event. The deadline to register is Thursday, September 15th at 11:59 PM**
