2022 - Buff Betty Adventure Race
2022 distances
Adventure race
Buff Betty 12 hour
It was only a matter of time before the Buff Betty got longer and harder. We feel the time is right, the mountains are a perfect place, and look forward to seeing you take on the 12 hour course! With a 6am start teams will start the race in the dark and have a full 12 hours to get to the finish line acquiring as many checkpoints as possible. This course will be challenging, especially with regards to elevation gain and loss and navigation, especially on the foot sections. If you have been thinking about taking on a longer race and feel that you have the fitness and navigation ability to get to the finish line this is the race for you. Or perhaps you want to work on that navigation, test yourself and see what you can do on your own as a soloist, or leading a team without the guys around…. The team that acquires the most points in the least amount of time wins. All checkpoints will be optional with all TA’s mandatory. Teams will be able to do as much of or as little of the course as they feel comfortable doing. The course is a secret until race morning when you get your map(s) and rules of travel instructions. This race will feature live race tracking.
Buff Betty 6 hour
This 6 hour Buff Betty will be designed as a beginner friendly race that will also challenge those veteran Buff Betty’s who perhaps do not have the time, skill set yet, or desire to do any race that requires a headlamp and being out in the woods all day long. It is also the prefect race to introduce your daughters or nieces to, or a friend that is curious and interested in the sport. This particular course will take into consideration the elevation gain and loss in the park, and will be designed so that you have fun, with a little bit of challenge thrown in. There is a good chance you will be making your way up to Molly’s Knob for that amazing view. We guarantee it will be worth the effort! The team that acquires the most points in the least amount of time wins. All checkpoints will be optional with all TA’s mandatory. Teams will be able to do as much of or as little of the course as they feel comfortable doing. The course is a secret until race morning when you get your map and rules of travel instructions.
