About this race
When times get hard, pets shouldn’t have to suffer—or be surrendered. The Cause 4PawsGary 5K Hound Pound is back to help make sure families can keep their pets fed and at home.
Our annual Run for the Bowl 5K walk/run raises funds to support the Gary Pet Food Pantry, which provides temporary pet food assistance to pet parents in need across Lake County, Indiana. Join us at Wolf Lake Pavilion in Hammond, Indiana (Lake County) for a fun, family-friendly day (dogs welcome!) with race-day photos, community spirit, and a mission that truly matters.

Cause 4 Paws Gary 5k Hound Pound
All walkers/runners with dogs must provide current proof of rabies at check-in. Bordetella &Canine Flu vaccines are recommended. All walkers/runners with pets assume the liability that their pet is good health and free from infections diseases and parasites. City of Hammond ordinance requires all pit bull and/or pit bull mix breed dogs wear a harness, and muzzle(basket muzzles are allowed) while in the public way. All females dogs in heat, puppies under 12 weeks, and aggressive dogs are prohibited from this event. . All pet walkers/runners are required to clean up after their pet and dispose of any and all pet waste properly. ALL PETS MUST BE ON A LEASH FOR THIS EVENT.
