Florida SouthWestern State College and Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity present the "20th Annual Turkey Trot". Come chase the bicycle riding turkey Thanksgiving morning, around the scenic campus of Florida SouthWestern State College in Punta Gorda, FL. This family friendly event has become a Thanksgiving tradition for many. Compete for medals in the "5K Run" or partake in the "5K Fun Walk" before feasting on the big meal! Register by October 31st and receive a free event t-shirt. Space is limited, so register early! Registration fee $30 6/30 - 8/31, $35 9/1 - 10/31 and $40 11/1 - 11/19 for adults, $25 fee for youth 4 - 14. Race Day registration is $45, so register early! Please note that Florida SouthWestern State College is a "no smoking and no pet" campus. Please be respectful of their rules. All proceeds benefit families in need of safe, decent, affordable homes through Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity. Registrations are non-refundable. Bib/Shirt pick up is on Wednesday Nov. 21st from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm, at the Habitat Punta Gorda Office, 1750 Manzana Ave. Punta Gorda, FL 33950. 941-639-3162. Day of Registration from 6:00 a.m. - 7:15 a.m. $45 per person, children 4-14 $25. Race starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. Runners will receive bibs with "chip" technology built in for timing purposes. Walkers will receive a bib but will not be timed. Awards for Age Divisions, Male and Female: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+ 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded. Free shirts only apply to participants that register by October 31st. A limited supply of shirts will be available for sale for $15 at bib pick-up on Wed. November 21st and on event day.
