About this race

Join Why Are You Running, a Utah nonprofit, for a first of its kind 2 mile fun run celebrating Utah’s diaspora community.

For the past three years, Why Are You Running has used movement to bring people together. Our founder’s goal is simple: help more people from the diaspora fall in love with running, get outside, and explore everything Utah has to offer.

We’ll meet at the Utah State Capitol, walk together to the starting point, then follow a music truck for a 2 mile fun run back to the Capitol. Afterward, bring a blanket and stay for an Afrobeats picnic and listening party on the Capitol lawn.

Proceeds help Why Are You Running provide free and low cost running, outdoor, and community experiences for refugee, immigrant, and underserved families in Utah.
