About this race

Join us on Saturday, May 23rd, for a Farm 5K Run/Walk as part of the 2026 Wardensville Spring Fest — a town-wide celebration filled with local flavor, creativity, and fun for all ages.

The 5K takes place on a scenic, approachable off-road course beside the Cacapon River, winding alongside Lewis Farm, where our organic vegetables are grown and livestock graze nearby. Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, it’s a great way to kick off a full day in Wardensville, WV.

All proceeds from the Farm 5K support local youth enrolled in the Junior Crew program at Farms Work Wonders.

Our mission is to ignite the spark of curiosity in Appalachian youth so they see themselves and their futures in new and exciting ways. We do this through real work in our businesses, where young people — our Junior Crew — are challenged and supported to learn the work, build confidence, and find their way forward, no matter the path they choose.

Event Schedule:

  • 8:00 AM – Registration Opens (same-day registration available; t-shirt sizes not guaranteed)
  • 8:30 AM – Run/Walk Begins 
  • Awards Ceremony to follow
  • Post-Race: Enjoy the rest of the festivities both at the courtyard and around town!

Awards:

  • 1st Place Overall Male & Female
  • Best Male & Female in each Age Division (20 total prizes) - Prizes TBA

  • 9 and under
  • 10 - 15
  • 16 - 21
  • 22 - 29

  • 60+

A Note On Pets:

While our market and courtyard are dog-friendly, dogs are not permitted on the 5K course to ensure the safety of our livestock and participants. We kindly ask that you make arrangements for your pet ahead of time and avoid leaving them in your vehicle.

4th Annual Farm 5K Benefit Run/Walk

Join us on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH, for our 4th annual FARM 5K BENEFIT RUN/WALK! Bring a friend or the entire family and enjoy a fun and easy off-road run or walk along the trails of our 100+ acre organic farm beside the Cacapon River. In 2019, your registration and sponsorship helped us raise over $10,000 for our local fire and rescue team. Help us smash that record by registering today to run/walk or sponsor! GOOD NEWS: We are working with APTiming again, who will provide timely and accurate race results along with finish line photos! We have also expanded our KIDS divisions, so we’ll have a total of 20 awards! HOW TO SIGN UP: - Online at runsignup.com AWARDS: 1st Place Overall Male and Female, and Best Male and Female in each Age Division (20 total prizes) DIVISIONS (by age): 5 and under, 6-9, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+ DOG-FRIENDLY: Participants with dogs on leash are welcome on the course after the runners and walkers have begun to not interfere with the competitive runners. All dogs must stay on the path and be leashed to prevent any harm to our chickens and other wildlife.
