About this race

The Gulf Coast Carnival Association has teamed up with the Gulf Coast Running Club to present the third annual Run for the Beads 5K!

Now with a Beer Mile!

  • 8:45 AM start for 1/4 Mile 
  • 9:00 AM start for 5K
  • 10:00 AM start for Beer Mile
    • Must be 21+ 
    • Beer provided by FEB Distributing
    • Awards for top 3 male, top 3 female, and top team
    • Beer mile will follow the same 1/4 mile course
    • NA options available
  • Awards for all the normal divisions in 5k and Kids' 1/4 mile (see race flyer for details).
  • 5k: $20 for GCRC Members, $22 for Non-Members (plus RunSignUp's fee)

    • $25 for late registration the morning of the race.

Must be over 21. FEB Distributing will be providing the beer. NA options available. Must drink 4 12oz beers in 1 mile. One at the start and then one each quarter mile. The Beer Mile Official Rules will be followed, found here: https://www.beermile.com/about/rules/1 Team option available.

Race walkers must follow USATF race walking guidelines. "Race walking requires the competitor to maintain contact with the ground at all times and requires the leading leg to be straightened as the foot makes contact with the ground. It must remain straightened until the leg passes under the body."
