LivSports 24 Hour Adult Hockey Marathon - Harvard
About this race
What is the LivSports 24 Hour Adult Hockey Marathon benefiting LivFree?
Here’s how it all works - the event is a continuous game with 60 to 90 skaters playing on two teams in 3 rotating groups based on ability, with a running score from opening puck drop to the final horn. Each player raises $1500 dollars for the cause. LivFree is a pediatric cancer non-profit organization that provides children and their families with moments of joy to take a break from struggle and enjoy some family time together. Whether it's tickets to a game, a Broadway show, or a night out - LivFree is here to help the whole family.
When will this take place and how does it work?
The event starts at 12pm on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, and the final horn will sound at 12pm Sunday, August 2nd, 2026. Teams will be broken up into 3 groups (A, B, and C) based on ability, and each skater will get a minimum of 8 hours of ice time. The standard swag for each player will be a custom jersey, synthetic hockey socks, an event hoodie, meals, snacks, drinks, and more.
What arena will this take place at?
We knew coming into this that the best way to honor the effort of the players, both in their fundraising and in their time on the ice was by securing an amazing venue. After a few steps into the Bright-Landry Hockey Center at Harvard University in Boston, MA, you will see that we found an absolute gem.
There will be more...
There is so much more that will be involved in this event, with opportunities for family members to come watch, raffles, fundraising incentives, corporate sponsorships, and more.
So get in touch with your teams, sign up, and spread the word. Don’t miss your chance to take the ice with LivFree and help change the lives of kids and families battling childhood cancer - one shift at a time.
