MAAH DAAH HEY 100 MTB RACE(S)
About the Event
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION TO THE RACE STARTING LINE, AND THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION OFF THE RACE COURSE IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE FINISH LINE... this event is in the middle of nowhere, Badlands USA... there is NO UBER or LYFT or taxis. We highly recommend bringing friends and/or family to be your SUPPORT AND GEAR (SAG) CREW. It is the safest and funnest way to eXperience the race.
***FRIDAY - PACKET PICKUP
All racers must check in at Packet Pickup the night before the race. We host packet pickup at two locations: MDH100 and MDH75 participants must pick up their packets in Watford City; MDH50, MDH25, and MDH13 participants must pick up their packets in Medora.
5pm –7pm Packet Pickup at the Roosevelt Inn & Suites (600 2nd Ave SW Watford City, ND 58854)
5pm – 7pm Packet Pickup at Finish Line Headquarters (Big White Tent) 3389 Pool Drive, Medora, ND 58645

NO REFUNDS... no matter what! The Badlands Race Series is unable to provide any reimbursements forany reason, any and all requests will be denied. HOWEVER, racers may purchase event insurance from RunSignUp.
Transfers and category (distance) changes can be made yourself by editing your own account, as long as registration is still open and there is availability in the category you desire (fees apply per transfer and/or change).
In case of emergencies, we reserve the right to change the race or course or terminate the the event early if circumstances arise that are life-threatening to our participants and/or our volunteers.
Rain Day on Race Day, PLAN B: If it rains and the racecourse is too wet to ride without causing damage the trail, the race start will be delayed in one hour increments. If the racecourse is not dry enough to ride by noon, an optional, alternate racecourse, on a different section of trail and/or the gravel roads, will be provided. Racers may participate at their own discretion. No refunds, no bad attitudes will be entertained or tolerated. It is what it is... an adventure.

Races Offered
Mountain biking
100 Mile
Experience the unique challenge of racing 107 MILES of North Dakota’s awe inspiring Maah Daah Hey singletrack trail. This event will push competitive riders to their limits while giving every participant an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives. The Badlands provide a truly stunning backdrop for one of North America’s most challenging and rewarding stretches of singetrack. EXPERT RIDERS ONLY!!! Be one of the very, very few mountain bikers in the world who have the bragging rights to say you finished the MDH100. There is a reason very few people have been able to accomplish this feat... it is extremely difficult. In 2015 only 37% of those who started the race were able to finish! Overall only about 50% of racers cross the finish line... yes, it's that challenging!
75 Mile
Still a serious undertaking, the Maah Daah Hey 75 is the option most competitive endurance racers should consider choosing if they have never ridden in the Badlands before. It is still a serious undertaking, but definitely more doable for the mere mortals who, for whatever reason, do not commit to the intensive training regiments and disciplined diets of the pros (trust us – it feels better to finish MDH75 and wish you had done MDH100 than to DNF the MDH100 and wish you had done the MDH75).
50 Mile
Best option for the racers who might want to be able to take their kids on a hike in Theodore Roosevelt National Park the day after the race. Just about any serious mountain biker can ride 50 miles if they really put their mind to it. With no river crossing, but more than enough raw and rugged single track for one day, this is an excellent option to challenge your skills and push your limits to the max, but not exceed them.
25 Mile
This is our most enjoyable race option! If you have a few big mountain bike rides under your belt and are ready to take it to the next level test your abilities out on the MDH25 course! This is the perfect entry level Maah Daah Hey race to take your confidence and your bragging rights up a notch! This is the easiest and least technical portion of the whole trail, but it is still the rugged Badlands and NOT necessarily intended for all beginners or first time racers!
13 Mile
This is a very survivable option for kids, families and the very new or very elderly racer! 13 miles of gorgeous badlands single track! Not all, but mostly downhill...

In honor of our late friend Kyle Brierley, we are offering this unique discount for kids to ride on the Maah Daah Hey Trail and make unforgettable memories with their parents. The day before Kyle passed away he rode the MDH13 with his daughter and then raced back out on course to ride with his son and help him become the youngest racer to ever finish the MDH25. In order to make special experiences like this more accessible for more families, we are offering a special 50% discount to kids 14 and younger who are riding with an adult. Parents/ guardians must register for the race at the regular price, then they can register their kid(s) for the special #RideOnKB 50% off discounted price.
