About this race
MLK5K
All of South Florida is invited to join us for our 5th annual race celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year we are expecting a diverse crowd of approximately 400 men, women and children of all ages to come together to chase Dr. King’s dream of equality, good health, and economic equity.
This event has something for nearly everyone who can walk or run including kids races, 1-mile, 5k and 10k races. Participants, sponsors and exhibitors will be once again joining forces to share their passions for unity, improved health outcomes, and support for small local minority-owned businesses.
A portion of proceeds from this event will be used to offset the costs for participants looking to improve their health, but are not able to cover the full costs of registration. Net proceeds also help provide educational programs as well as other resources to small minority-owned businesses in Palm Beach County through the efforts of the volunteers of two nonprofit organizations, the Black Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County and the Equity Entrepreneur Center. DIVINE NINE 5K CHALLENGE
Calling all Greeks!! Fraternities and sororities are invited to join us again this year to compete for trophies exclusively for you. The fraternity and sorority with the most number of registered members will each earn a coveted trophy which they will have to defend at next year's event. Fraternities and sororities will have their own unique promo codes which will direct a portion of the proceeds to college scholarships administered through National Pan-Hellenic Council of Palm Beach County. Come out and represent your organization, and help send and keep students in college.
New for this year is the addition of Greek Row. Your fraternity or sorority can secure a tent on Greek Row where you can meet up before and after the race to enjoy some good fellowship.
Join fellow runners on January 23, 2027 for the Mlk5K/10K and Divine Nine 5K Challenge. It's a fantastic 5K, 10K, 1.6K, Kids 100-Yard Dash (Ages 3-8), Kids 400-yard Fun Run (Ages 9-11) featuring a flat and fast course in Riviera Beach.

Running
MLK5K
This is the main event. Three water stations will be provided along the route. Participants will receive a t-shirt and finishers medal.
MLK10K
This longer distance race will test your fitness. Three water stations will be provided along the route. Participants will receive a t-shirt and finishers medal.
Virtual MLK5K or 10K
Celebrate the life and legacy of MLK with this virtual run. Participants will be mailed a t-shirt and finishers medal if registered by December 31, 2023.
Kids 100-Yard Dash (Ages 3-8)
There will be two age groups (3-5 and ages 6-8) in this race. One adult may accompany their child(ren) at no cost. Participants will receive a t-shirt and finishers medal.
Kids 400-yard Fun Run (Ages 9-11)
Youth ages 9-11 years old will participate in this race. Participants will receive a t-shirt and finishers medal.
MLK 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk Youth (Ages 12 and Under)
Must be 13 and under to register for this event. Participants will receive a t-shirt and finishers medal.
MLK 5K – Youth (Ages 12 and Under)
Must be 13 and under to register for this event. Participants will receive a t-shirt and finishers medal.
Walking
MLK 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
See how quickly you can complete a mile and build your stamina for longer races. Participants will receive a t-shirt and finishers medal.
