Designed for young adventurers, the Labor Day Weekend Lil' Tri introduces kids to the excitement of multisport racing in a fun, supportive environment. Participants will paddle, pedal, and run their way through a beginner-friendly course while building confidence and having a blast. Perfect for first-time racers and active kids alike, the Lil' Tri focuses on participation, sportsmanship, and fun!

Labor Day Lil' Triathlon presented by Baptist OrthoNow
Montgomery Whitewater’s “Lil Tri” puts a fun spin on the traditional triathlon by challenging young athletes to paddle, bike, and run across the finish line. Open to kids ages 6 to 12, Lil Tri consists of a 370 yard flatwater paddle, 700 yard bike ride, and 880 yard run. Montgomery Whitewater will provide all paddle equipment; participants must bring their own bike and helmet and wear secure shoes (no flip-flops or Crocs). Kids ages 6-10 must paddle with an adult in the inflatable kayak; 11- & 12-year-olds may paddle solo. Siblings may pair together. This race is not timed and has no official winners. BEFORE YOU ARRIVE Bring your own bicycle and helmet. These are required to participate. Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes with backs. Crocs are not allowed. This is not a timed race. Lil' Tri is all about fun, confidence, and crossing the finish line with a smile. Water, water, water! Please bring plenty to drink to stay hydrated throughout the day. T-SHIRTS If you registered by Monday, August 24th your race t-shirt will be waiting for you at packet pick-up. If you registered after Monday, August 24th, we’re so glad you’re joining us. Just know that a t-shirt may not be included this time.
