Mountains 2 Beach Marathon and Half
About the Event
Uniquely situated and completely surrounded by beautiful mountains, the city of Ojai holds the start of the Mountains 2 Beach Marathon while the half starts closer to the beach. This point to point race winds through the Ventura River Valley as it makes its way to the pristine beaches of the last great surf town in California, Ventura. Runners will love the gradual downhill nature of the race, which is prime to make you faster but not hurt the knees, and the amazing weather of the area. After a final tour of beach front Ventura, runners and their families are treated to a finish line party only steps away from the surf and the shops and restaurants of Historic Downtown Ventura. As a certified Boston Qualifier, the courses, the race and the surrounding communities make for the perfect destination marathon and half.

5k
With a beautiful ocean side start, the Beachfront 5k starts and finishes at the Full/Half finish expo area. It will be flat and fast…Be sure to stick around for the festivities and beer garden and to cheer on your fellow runners. 5k participants will enjoy the same finish line as the Marathoners and Half Marathoners, along with all the amenities and of course the Beachside Party afterwards. ***Course is subject to change without notice.
Combo Challenge- 5k & Full Marathon
Back by popular demand. You will run the 5k with us on Saturday and then the Full Marathon on Sunday. As a Combo Challenge runner, you will get a special medal (three medals in total- 1 for the 5k, 1 for the Full Marathon and 1 combo medal) and VIP lounge access on Sun! The 5k is all beach front running on Saturday. Come ready to run then hang out at the expo festival as the majority of the runners are checking in that day for their race the next day. Then on Sunday join us for the Mountains 2 Beach Marathon. 26.2 miles of mountain and beachfront scenery. Starting in beautiful downtown Ojai, California, you start off with a 6+ mile loop through east Ojai. This loop brings runners back by the start area which makes for great spectating as it heads towards the community of Meiners Oaks. After a few downhill trending miles through country roads, the course makes its way onto the Ventura River Bike Path and then continues to Downtown Ventura. After a tour of downtown Ventura, runners make one of the final turns and come face to face with the famous Ventura Beach front. Try not to get distracted by the beauty as you still have just over a mile to go of beach side running which brings you to the finish line and festival. Over the 26.2 miles you will see beautiful mountain peaks, the Ventura River Basin, the Historic Ventura Downtown district, and the world renowned Ventura Coast line. There is a total downhill of over 700 feet. The course is a lightning fast, USATF certified Boston Marathon Qualifier (CA24015TEB). Space is limited so don’t wait and miss out. Then on Sunday join us for the Half Marathon. Starting on a quiet road in Oak View CA, you will begin your race near the Ventura River. Heading towards Ventura on back country roads you will eventually encounter our Ventura River bike path which continues to Downtown Ventura. After a quick tour of downtown, runners make one of the final turns and come face to face with the famous Ventura Beach front. Try not to get distracted by the beauty as you still have just over a mile to go of beach side running which brings you to the finish line and festival. Over the 13.1 miles you will see beautiful mountain peaks, the Ventura River Basin, the Historic Ventura Downtown district, and the world renowned Ventura Coast line. The finish line and festival are directly adjacent to the beach which beckons you for a post-race soak. Kids 1K Fun Run
We always have so much fun with the kids 1k, we just have to do it again!!! Starting on Sat during the packet pickup for the half and the full, kids 12 and under will get the chance to race against their peers in this fun (spectator friendly) route throughout the venue area at the Ventura State Beach ***Course is subject to change without notice.
