About this race
Join us in the City-by-the-Sea for this stunning marathon and half marathon Newport Rhode Races partners with the upcoming Annual Newport Daffodil Days Festival to give you a true Spring Newport Experience. Our courses will pass along many of the over 1,200,000 starting to bloom around the City by the Sea. (We'll call it Dash through the Daffodils!)
The Marathon will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2027, at Easton's Beach in Newport, RI. The Half Marathon will start at 8:00 a.m. from the same location.
The marathon course is USATF certified and is a Boston Marathon Qualifier.
Please respect our native environment - STAY OFF THE DUNES, use trash receptacles, and recycle as much as possible.
Please Note: Newport Rhode Races will be happening rain or shine. Because of the logistics of planning for a race of this size, we cannot offer refunds for any reason. In the event that weather is severe enough to create an unsafe environment for participants, organizers will cancel the event with no refunds issued.

Marathon
The course is a stunning mix of historic mansions, sweeping ocean views and beautiful tree-lined streets of the City by the Sea. The second half of the race takes you past popular Second Beach, Purgatory Rock, the Norman Bird Sanctuary and the quiet back roads in Middletown, RI. The course is USATF certified and is a Boston Marathon Qualifier.
Tufts Health Plan Half Marathon
The course is a stunning mix of historic mansions, sweeping ocean views and beautiful tree-lined streets of the City by the Sea.
5k
A gorgeous run past the Cliff Walk, through a secluded section of Salve Regina University before a loop through a neighborhood and back down to Easton's Beach.
Early Starters Marathon
Our race officially has a time limit of 6 hours. However - we do have an early starters option for those that need extra time, the start time for the early starters is 6:30am. While the course is not yet supported and secure, it does allow you an extra hour to finish, we feel it is better to have more support at the end, rather than in the beginning. A couple notes about this - the course is not yet supported but is still getting set up. We just ask you stay on the sidewalks until we officially start at 7:30a. The route is marked but it will be important to be familiar with the first few miles. Aid station supplies will be in place but the volunteers may not arrive until a bit later. Finally, you would be ineligible for Age Group Awards. Just some FYIs.
