NSHA RunWalk Challenge for Safe Haven Awareness Month
About this race
April is Safe Haven awareness month, and throughout the month, you can help save babies from neglect and abandonment and support parents in need! Join The National Safe Haven Alliance (NSHA) for the annual RunWalk Challenge for Baies during Safe Haven Awareness Month and have fun, get fit, and raise awareness and support for efforts to prevent infant abandonment in our country! Founded in 2004, NSHA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working in partnership with adjacent organizations, state agencies, providers, and parents throughout the nation to prevent the neglect and death of innocent children. NSHA is committed to providing holistic support to parents through advocacy, education, and crisis support intervention through the national, 24/7, confidential Safe Haven helpline, 1-888-510-BABY (2229) www.nationalsafehavenalliance.org
About NSHA's RunWalk Challenge
Register to run or walk a 5K, 10K, OR a Half Marathon (21K), at your own pace during April, raise awareness and support for NSHA's efforts to prevent infant abandonment in our country! The $25 registration fee (plus processing fee) includes the 2026 April RunWalk for Babies commemorative medal mailed to you at the end of the month! Refer 5 friends and receive $20 of your registration fee reimbursed! The top individual or team that meets or exceeds their goals by the end of the month will also receive recognition and a gift from NSHA after the event!
More Details:
1.) Register to run or walk a 5K, 10K, or 21K at your own pace during April, and set a fundraising goal (in any amount), to raise support for NSHA's mission to end infant abandonment in our country. (*Note: Even though you register to be a fundraiser, fundraising is not required to participate.) Each registered participant receives a commemorative medal in the mail at the end of the month! Event t-shirts are available for purchase separately, and ordering a shirt gives back to our mission! Refer 5 friends and receive $20 back from your registration costs!
2.) After you register, share your goal tracking/donation page with others in your network. This can be done via Facebook Fundraiser, QR code, or via a link to this event website. (Instructions provided when you register.)
3.) Share NSHA's mission, social media posts, and your goal progress on your social media platforms throughout Safe Haven awareness month and complete your goal by the end of the month!
You can also create a team and run or walk together in your community to create greater awareness! This is a fun way to bring attention to the life-saving Safe Haven laws, the National Safe Haven Alliance's mission to end infant abandonment, and the 24/7 confidential Safe Haven hotline for parents in need: 1-888-510-BABY.
The individual or team that meets or exceeds their goals will receive recognition from NSHA and a gift after the event!
You can also be involved by donating to and sharing other participants' goals! Simply click on the "Find a Participant" button at the top of the page and make a donation showing your support today!
