Beach Cleanup Day: May 14

Join Team Renew, Live Grit SOARS, Tri-Masters, Life Time and Open Water Swim CHICAGO to clean-up Ohio Street Beach before the season begins. Please RSVP on this system to ensure proper headcount. COMMUNITY BEACH CLEANUP EVENT Saturday, May 14 Check-In Time: 8:00 AM Ohio Street Beach: 600 N. Lake Shore Dr, Chicago PARTICIPANT DETAILS - Upon arrival, please check-in with the Renew Chicago volunteer team at the tent on the beach. - Everyone will be assigned a task relative to preference and/or availability. - Roles include picking-up trash, moving sand, and removing debris from the water. - Relevant tools and rubber gloves will be provided but bring a pair of heavy-duty work gloves if possible. - Please wear close-toed shoes (no sandals) and dress appropriately for the weather. - The cleanup will be held rain or shine. In the event of storms or last-minute issues, we will post updates to the Open Water Swim CHICAGO Facebook page and do our best to SMS/text all participants. - Parents should provide appropriate supervision for minors. If you plan to drive, the best parking options are the meters along Ohio Street (immediately west of Lake Shore Dr). Use the Ohio Street pedestrian tunnel to quickly access the beach. - Water and light snacks will be available to everyone. - Following the cleanup, plan to stay for lunch (on your own) at Caffe’ Oliva. - Our friends from Boston Beer Company will provide a complimentary Truly Hard Seltzer for your service contribution (must be 21)!
