Gear Swap - Attendee (May 6)
It's back! Join us for the 9th Annual Chicago Tri Community Gear Swap on Saturday, May 6 from 9AM - 12PM. The Gear Swap is Chicago's only tri-specific garage sale where new and veteran triathletes can exchange, buy or sell their used multisport gear with ease. This year's event will be held in conjunction with Urban Tri Gear's huge wetsuit warehouse sale and cycle gear liquidation next to the FMC Natatorium in Westmont, IL (20 miles west of downtown). To help gauge demand, all participants must RSVP in advance. The Gear Swap is complimentary for buyers, and $10 for individuals who plan to sell gear (table space will be provided). Clean-Up Volunteer (May 13)
Join the entire endurance community on Saturday morning, May 13 as we beautify Ohio Street Beach before the swim season begins. The cleanup begins at 8:00 AM. In tandem with our friends at the Chicago Park District, volunteers will pick-up debris from the beach and adjacent parkland, as well as remove various objects from the water. Water and snacks will be available. Tools and rubber gloves will be provided (personal work gloves are highly recommended). Volunteers must RSVP in advance. Full details will be distributed prior to the event.
