Parkie's 5k

Join the Bolingbrook Park District by participating in Parkie's 5K. Parkie's 5k has been running for over 10 years and has grown to be one of the most popular 5k events in the area. The race starts and finishes in front of the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex. The USATF certified course (IL-15015-JW) winds through subdivisions and park property on paved streets. Course monitors, split timers, and water stations will be provided. Strollers and walkers are welcome at Parkie's 5k. Strollers pose a special risk and for the safety of all participants, strollers must start at the back of the field. Strollers and walkers will start at a delayed time from runners. Pets, bicycles, in-line skates, and other wheeled vehicles (except wheelchairs) are not allowed. Packet pick up is August 25, 2017 from 3-7 pm at the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex (BRAC) at 200 S. Lindsey Lane, Bolingbrook, IL 60440). We will also have pick up available beginning at 6:30 am on race day at the race site at the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex (200 S. Lindsey Lane, Bolingbrook, IL 60440). Join us for Parkie’s cool down at Pelican Harbor after the race! Pelican Harbor will open at 10:00 am just for runners and their families with purchase of Bolingbrook Cares wristbands for $3. Your wristband will provide access to Pelican Harbor for this special early event and for the entire day. All proceeds from wristband sales will support the Bolingbrook Park District Financial Aid fund. Purchased wristbands will be included in your race packet.

Parkie's 10k (New for 2017!)

New for 2017! Parkie's 5k has added a big brother and this year we are excited to bring the inaugural Parkie's 10k! The race starts and finishes in front of the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex, fifteen minutes ahead of Parkie's 5k. The two races share the first two miles and then the Parkie's 10k USATF certified course (IL-16089-NM) winds through subdivisions and park property on paved streets. Course monitors, split timers, and water stations will be provided. Strollers and walkers are welcome at Parkie's 10k. We ask that walkers, slower runners, and strollers remain to the right side of the road to allow the 5k runners to pass. Strollers pose a special risk and for the safety of all participants, strollers must start at the back of the field.
