Port City Run
About this race
The Port City Run has been a fixture in Frankfort since 1979, making a notable return in 2025 with a new autumn schedule. This year's run/walk coincides with the Frankfort Fall Festival and Craft Fair, celebrating a vibrant day filled with fitness, crafts, and community spirit in downtown Frankfort.
Awards in the 5K race will go to the top overall, master and grand master male & female runners, Awards will also be given to the top place in 14 age-group divisions including 0-14, 15-20, 21-25, 26-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51-55, 56-60, 61-65, 66-70, 70+
Pre-race day packet pick up will take place at StormCloud Brewing on Friday, October 10 from 4PM until 7PM. StormCloud will be proving $2 off coupons to registered participants.
Race Day packet pick up will take place in Open Space Park one hour prior to race time. Look for the "CHECK IN" wind waiver.
Funds raised from the event will help support the Frankfort-Elberta Area Varsity Cross Country and Track programs. Go Panthers!!

Running
Port City 5K Run
This event is a timed 5K running race conducted on a paved surface. Awards are given to top finishers. The race begins at the Frankfort Open Space and travels along the Betsie Valley Trail to the East and South. This is a 5K out and back course so you will traverse the same areas throughout the race. The course is composed of asphalt pavement & a small amount of wood boardwalk. It is quite flat, with two bridges over the Betsie River and two road crossings. As this is an out & back course all runners must stay to the right hand side of the trail throughout the race.
Port City 1 Mile Family Fun Run
This event is a 1 Mile Family Fun Run for youth participants and accompanying family, if necessary. The run/walk is untimed but awards for top female & male finisher will be given. The Family Fun Run begins at the Frankfort Open Space and travels along the Betsie Valley Trail to the East. This is a 1 mile out and back course so you will traverse the same areas throughout the race. The entire course is on the paved Betsie Valley Trail.
Port City 5K Run - High School Teams
This event is a timed 5K running race conducted on a paved surface. Awards are given to top finishers. Registrations for this event must be completed by the team coach with each runner being separately registered and a group race fee will be applied for the team. The race begins at the Frankfort Open Space and travels along the Betsie Valley Trail to the East and South. This is a 5K out and back course so you will traverse the same areas throughout the race. The course is composed of asphalt pavement & a small amount of wood boardwalk. It is quite flat, with two bridges over the Betsie River and two road crossings. As this is an out & back course all runners must stay to the right hand side of the trail throughout the race.
Walking
Port City 5K Walk
This event is an untimed 5K walk conducted on a paved surface. Those who complete the walk will receive a finisher medal. The walk begins at the Frankfort Open Space and travels along the Betsie Valley Trail to the East and South. This is a 5K out and back course so you will traverse the same areas throughout the race. The course is composed of asphalt pavement & a small amount of wood boardwalk. It is quite flat, with two bridges over the Betsie River and two road crossings. As this is an out & back course all walkers must stay to the right hand side of the trail throughout the walk.
