Ramona Wine Country 5K
About this race
Be sure to grab your family, friends, coworkers and come join us for one of the most fun filled events in Southern California, the Ramona Wine Country 5k. It takes place at the breathtaking Backcountry Gardens and is part trails with a splash of mud run plus a healthy dose of Mother Nature’s obstacles mixed in for fun. You’ll also find some hills, streams, boulders and much more. Not your average 5K! Everyone can do it as long as you have the drive and determination to keep going, not quit and in the words of Joe Dirt, “keep on keepin’ on."
It’s a 1.5 mile two loop course. If two loops are too many, feel free to enjoy the single loop option. You can walk, hike, run...your pick!
Oh, and don’t miss out on the Charity Solo & Team Beer Mile after the 5K is finished. All you gotta do is drink 4 beers and run 4 x400 meters Fastest individual or 2-4 person team earns the bragging rights.
Once the fitness is over, you’ve gotta then join us across the road at the award winning Ramona Ranch Winery for a FREE wine tasting, share stores and food for purchase. If you didn’t know, Ramona Ranch is also San Diego’s only Certified Sustainable Vineyard and Winery.

*Packet pick-up will be onsite the day of the event from 8AM-8:45AM. The charity beer mile will follow after everyone finishes the 5K.

5K - Competitive Heat (Individuals)
This heat is for all of you competitive athletes out there that really want to get after it and race the course! Only sign up for this heat if you think you have what it takes to be King or Queen of the all terrain. *If you are between the ages of 8-12 - we ask that you participate in the Fun Run and must have a parent/guardian run with you the entire time, due to the terrain.
5K - Competitive Heat (Cross Country Teams)
*NEW: This heat is for all of you Cross Country athletes out there that really want to have fun and race the course as a team! The team must be at least 3 men, 3 women or 3 mixed. Be sure to list your team name. *If you are between the ages of 8-12 - we ask that you participate in the Fun Run and must have a parent/guardian run with you the entire time, due to the terrain.
5K - Fun Run (Individuals and Teams)
This heat is for all of you athletes and weekend warriors out there that are more interested in having fun along the way than reaching the podium. This division is not timed and no awards. *If you are between the ages of 8-12 - we require that you have a parent/guardian run with you the entire time, due to the terrain.

Beer Mile
This event will start once all 5K participants are through the finish-line. You will drink a beer and run 400 meters x 4 rounds to make up the mile course. Must be 21 to participate. There is an Individual category and a Team category. (Teams must have 2-4 members)
