About the Event
The San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup presented by OrthoNow is a one-of-a-kind Olympic-style, co-ed, team building, opponent-taunting, skills-flaunting field day for adults that pits company vs. company in the ultimate competition to claim the cup! It's not about athletic prowess. Oh no my friends, this is all about coming together to bond, trash talk and score points!
Besides joining forces with colleagues in a fun, active and football-tailgating-kind-of-way (with bragging rights and a really awesome trophy that won't leak beer), the San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup incorporates a Charity Challenge into the competition each year.
And...
Proceeds from the Corporate Cup will provide sports and fitness programs for the youth of our community, especially those who are underserved, as well as all of the other amazing things we do for San Antonio like host the Final Four. It doesn't get better than reliving your glory days while going head-to-head with a rival company, but if you need the best reason, do it for the kids!

Whataburger 5K Run
REGISTRATION ENDS ON March 24 (due to bib ordering). 10 participants allowed, no gender requirement. (We allow 10 employees per team to participate, only the eight (8) best times for a team will count towards the team score.) Location: Heroes Stadium - 4799 Thousand Oaks Dr, San Antonio, TX 78233 (Partnership event with another San Antonio Sports event, San Antonio Sports ACTIVATE) Packet/Bib Pickup: Saturday, March 28 (event day) from 6:00-7:00 am (subject to change) Event Date: Saturday, March 28 (date subject to change) Time: 7:30am Event Format Four age divisions: (U30) (30-39) (40-49) (50+). There are no requirements for number of participants in age division. Point System TEAM POINTS Each team must have at least four (4) runners in order to qualify for team points. Any team with less than four (4) runners registered will automatically get the minimum of 10 team points earned. All individual runners will still qualify for individual points earned. 100 points will be awarded to the 1st place team, 90 points will be awarded to the 2nd place team and points will move down incrementally by 10 until the 8th place team has been awarded 30 points. All teams that finish below 8th place will be awarded 10 points. INDIVIDUAL POINTS 5, 4, and 3 points will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female runners in each of the 4 age divisions. ***Please note that every competition listed below on this page allows for each team to register 2 participants as alternates. Also please get with your Team Captain if you receive a registration full message for a specific competition. This message would be due to the maximum number of employees registered for that event, or your team has reached the number of required gender specific registrants for that event. Corporate Cup teams will participate in the Whataburger 5K, which is part of the public-facing San Antonio Sports ACTIVATE 5K event.
Walking
Gonzaba 2K Walk
Unlimited participants. Must be company employee. Location: UIW Date: May 30 Competition Format All participants can walk the course, no participation cap, however only 25 finishers from each team will be awarded 4 points with a maximum opportunity of 100 team points. D4 & D5 teams will be assigned to have only 15 finishers allowed to earn 4 points each with the maximum opportunity of 60 points allowed. All participants can walk the course, no participation cap. Point System Teams will be awarded 4 points for each employee that finishes the walk for a total 100 (60 for D4/D5 teams) point maximum per team. Participants must have a number from which the tab will be collected at the finish line. Family, friends and other employees are encouraged to join their participating walker, but only 25 (15 for D4/D5) employees will be scored.
