About this race
Join the Paris-Bourbon County YMCA, Nicholas County YMCA, and the Nicholas County Chamber of Commerce for the Scarecrow Shuffle 5k on Saturday, September 26, 2026 in the heart of downtown Carlisle as we celebrate fall, fitness, and community spirit. The family-friendly event is more than just a race - it's an opportunity to invest in the future of Nicholas County and will include an in-person run/walk 5k, Fastest Kid in Town, and a virtual 5k option.
Proceeds from the Scarecrow Shuffle will benefit the Nicholas County Chamber of Commerce, an organization dedicated to strengthening our local economy and enhancing the quality of life for residents throughout the county. The Chamber works to support local businesses, promote tourism, encourage economic development, and create opportunities that help our community grow and thrive.
By participating in the Scarecrow Shuffle, you're doing more than crossing a finish line - you're helping build a stronger, more vibrant Nicholas County. Every step taken helps support local businesses, community programs, and the continued growth of our hometown.

Join fellow runners on September 26, 2026 for the Scarecrow Shuffle 5k. It's a fantastic 5K, Fastest Kid in Town, Virtual Runner/Walker featuring a flat and fast course in Carlisle.

Running
5k Run/Walk
A chip timed 5k run/walk on paved road surfaces. Awards will be presented to Overall Top M/F finishers and Top 3 finishers M/F in each age group. Participants receive a commemorative race T-shirt if signed up by August 31, 2026.
Fastest Kid in Town
A fun race for kids 12 and under to determine the "Fastest Kid in Carlisle". The event is free.
Virtual Runner/Walker
If you can't join us in person consider participating as a virtual runner/walker. For your donation, we'll make sure you get a commemorative race T-shirt. The 5k can be done on your own time from anywhere
