💡 What is EDS?
The Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) are a group of 13 rare connective tissue disorders caused by genetic changes affecting connective tissue. Features vary by type, but common traits include:

Joint hypermobility
Stretchy, fragile skin
Tissue fragility

🦓 How Rare is EDS?

  • Hypermobile EDS (hEDS): Most common, ~1 in 3,100–5,000 people
  • Classical EDS (cEDS): ~1 in 20,000–40,000 people
  • Vascular EDS (vEDS): ~1 in 100,000–200,000 people
  • Ultra-rare types: Affect <1 in 1 million; some reported in only a few families

Even though some types are rare, the impact on individuals and families is huge, and raising awareness is key!

Distance: 1-mile (or less) loop – designed for walkers, rollers, and wheelchair participants of all ages and abilities. Description: Join us for a family-friendly awareness loop supporting the EDS community! Whether you walk, roll, or wheel, this loop is a fun, accessible way to show support for individuals living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) and their families. Participants will enjoy: A scenic 1-mile loop suitable for strollers, wheelchairs, and walkers Access to vendor booths, art exhibit, and community resources along the route Opportunities to connect with other participants, families, and local EDS supporters Participant Registration Includes: Entry to the 1-mile loop Event T-shirt (if registered by April 1) Access to on-site activities, vendor booths, and art exhibit
