Yorktown Independence Day 8K Run/Walk
About the Event
This is a Chip timed 8K event that participants can run,walk or Ruck on the 4th of July on the historic Yorktown Virginia Battlefield Tour Road. Celebrate Independence on the best 8K running/walking course on the Peninsula! Race participants will park and gather near the York High School tennis courts ( 9300 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, VA 23692) and will be led to the start line by Fife and Drummers. Race Day packet pick up only! 7AM-8:30 AM.

The 8K race starts at 8 AM. The 5K Fun Run starts at 8:30 AM
All 8K participants receive a custom race T ( Custom Race T and T shirt size guaranteed to those registered by June 24th, 2026) and the first 350 to register and finish receive a beautiful custom die cast commemorative medal. Awards for the top three overall men and women. 8K participants will compete for Age Group awards starting at 14 and under, 15-19, Five year increments from 20-24 to 75 and over.
8K Ruck Division. Awards to the top overall Male and Female Ruck finisher.
This year the 5k is Chip timed. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to the top three men and women in age groups: 10 and under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 10 year increments 20-29, to 80 and over
All 5K Run participants receive a finisher coin and a custom race T while supplies last ( Custom Race T and T shirt size guaranteed to those registered by June 24th, 2026) .
Refreshments and post race celebration after your finish.

All participants registered by June 24th, 2026 guaranteed a custom race T-shirt in their requested size. All others first come first served. the first 350 registered participants and who finish receive a custom die cast commemorative medal Overall top three men and women receive awards. 8K Ruck
Participants under 150LBS are required to wear a Ruck with 10LBS of weight. Participants over 150 LBS must wear a Ruck with 20 LBS of weight. Participants can run, walk of run/walk. Awards go to the top male and female overall ruck finisher.
8K Virtual Run/Walk
Virtual runners can complete their event on a course, place and time of their choosing until 10 AM on July 4th, 2026. Virtual participants cannot use a time from another race and virtual participants are not eligible for awards. Virtual participants receive a custom race T the first 350 to register receive a custom Die cast commemorative medal. Custom Race T and T shirt size guaranteed to those registered by June 24th, 2026 Race Day packet pick up only! 7AM-8AM or Swag bags and Finisher medals can be mailed for an additional $9.00 Virtual Participants can post their results by logging into Runsignup.
5K Run Walk Fun Run
The 5K Run Walk is a Chip timed event! Participants will start and finish at the 8K start line. This is an out and back course. Race Day packet pick up only! 7:30AM-8:30AM T-shirt size guaranteed for those signed up by Jun 24th, 2026. All others first come first served. 1st 150 finishers receive a custom coin.
5K Virtual Run/Walk
