About this race
We are beyond excited to open registration for the 13th Annual Gretna Gritty!
Join us for Gretna Glen Camp & Retreat Center's 13th annual 5k mud run fundraiser with 20+ obstacles in the beautiful, rugged terrain of the Mt. Gretna area. During our first ever "Fall Gritty", participants can expect to encounter challenges of balance, brawn, bravery, buffoonery, and more! With hilly terrain and challenges new and old - the Gritty has something for everyone. This event allows you to challenge yourself as much as you want, so walking is also welcomed. In addition to the Gretna Gritty, we also host the "Nitty Gritty" kids (5-11 years old) fun run, which gets kids in on the action with a 1.3-mile fun run. All Gritty and Nitty Gritty runners can expect lunch, medals, adventures, a sweet Gretna Gritty t-shirt*, and memories to last a lifetime!
We plan to have an AMAZING event with the BEST course around & Raise $30,000! Proceeds for this event, excluding participation costs, will directly support the ministry of Gretna Glen Camp & Retreat Center. "God's Place Apart - Transforming Lives." You can learn more about us here.

Mud Run - Competitive
Sign up here for COMPETITIVE registration only! Top runners in each heat win prizes, and top three runners or teams across all COMPETITIVE heats will win the overall Gritty Prizes. Note that the competitive heats will be in the morning, and non-competitive heats in the afternoon.
Mud Run - Non Competitive
Sign up here for NON COMPETITIVE registration only! Top runners in each heat win prizes, and top three runners or teams across all COMPETITIVE heats will win the overall Gritty Prizes. Note that the competitive heats will be in the morning, and non-competitive heats in the afternoon.
Nitty Gritty - Kids Run
This is a NEW event - bring your kids (ages 5-11) and they'll enjoy a mile of fun and mud that they'll remember for the rest of their lives! Upon completion they'll receive a "Gretna Gritty" headband, and bragging rights to say that they did the Nitty Gritty!
Running
Walk-A-Thon
This is a challenge for those who are less interested in the mud, but still want to help raise funds for camp. Last year our walkers enjoyed themselves, and some of them even found the mud too tempting not to get into! This will be a guided walk, that takes place between the competitive, and non competitive heats.
