2016 - Gretna Gritty Fall - 5k Mud Run Fundraiser

Competitive Wave #1- 8:30 AM

The Competitive Waves will happen first thing in the morning, with wave starts from 8:30 to 9:30. 5k of Mud, Fire, Tires, Nets, Ice and more! This event is for people 12+ who want to be professionally chip timed, and/ or have interest in competing. This year we will award top 3 overall males, females and teams, as well as have prizes for age bracket winners. Competitive runners will have to complete obstacles or do burpees to make up for missed obstacles. All finishers receive a sweet Gretna Gritty T-shirt, medals, lunch, and bragging rights. Team size for this race is 4 people. No more, no less, but you are welcome to sign up as two separate teams, or to have a friend run alongside you as a 5th "informal" team member. This is to provide consistency for timers and allow for us to come up with a best overall "cumulative" score. Anyone who chooses to run competitive waves, but not compete for prizes will have the option of disqualifying themselves (so as to avoid burpees). This is a good option for someone who is solely interested in being chip timed, or prefers a morning heat. Every runner in these waves will be chip timed, and have to pay the chip timed (competitive) rate. ***If you register after 4-25-2016 you will not receive a t-shirt on race day. There will be a designated area at the start/finish line for you to order your t-shirt that will need picked up at Gretna Glen when it arrives.

Walk-A-Thon #1 9:40 AM

The Walk-A-Thon has no age limit, and is a great way to walk a 5k trail beside the Gritty. The trail is hilly, but passable, and you should expect to wear sturdy shoes that you don't mind getting muddy. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and a water bottle to refill at our many water stations along the path. The reason you will be signing a waiver is to release liability from Gretna Glen in the event that you choose to participate in any of the challenges/ obstacles. Last year we had several walkers decide to get in on the gritty action! All walkers receive lunch, medals, a t-shirt, and a walking tour of some of the most beautiful parts of camp. ***If you register after 4-25-2016 you will not receive a t-shirt on race day. Non-Competitive Wave #1 10:10 AM

The Non Competitive Waves are our most versatile option with waves starts from around 10 am until roughly 1:30 in the afternoon. Participants will run the same trail as the Competitive runners with 5k of Mud, Fire, Tires, Nets, Ice and more! This event is for people 12+ who are interested in a non competitive, non timed, "all the mess with half the stress" opportunity. All runners receive a sweet Gretna Gritty T-shirt, medals, lunch, and bragging rights. Team sizes for the non-competitive run are unlimited, so you can invite your friends, family, youth group, and co-workers to join you on the fun! So far the record team size is 34 people! Nitty Gritty - Kids Run

This event is a blast for the kiddos! Bring your kids (ages 5-11) and they'll enjoy a mile of fun and mud that they'll remember for the rest of their lives! Every child who runs the Nitty Gritty will receive a Gretna Gritty T-shirt, lunch, caked on mud, and smiles for the whole ride home! There are no set wave times for the Nitty Gritty. Just show up any time between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. ***If you register after 4-25-2016 you will not receive a t-shirt on race day. There will be a designated area at the start/finish line for you to order your t-shirt that will need picked up at Gretna Glen when it arrives. **Parents may run alongside the Gritty, but know that we will have staff at every element, and keeping kids safe is what we do best at Gretna Glen. *This event is not timed, or competitive.
