2019 - Gretna Gritty Fall - 5k Mud Run Fundraiser

Competitive Wave 8:00 AM

The Competitive Waves will happen first thing in the morning, with two waves at 8:00 to 8:10. Expect a rugged 5k of Mud, Fire, Tires, Nets, Ice and more! This event is for people 12+ who want to be professionally chip timed, and/ or have interest in competing. This year we will award top 3 overall males, and females, as well as have recognition for age bracket winners (online and posted at event). Competitive runners will have to complete obstacles or do burpees to make up for missed obstacles. All finishers receive a sweet Gretna Gritty T-shirt, medals, lunch, and bragging rights. Team size for this race is 4 people. No more, no less, but you are welcome to sign up as two separate teams, or to have a friend run alongside you as a 5th "informal" team member. This is to provide consistency for timers and allow for us to come up with a best overall "cumulative" score. Teams that win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place will not qualify for individual winnings, and may wait longer for a separate team winner announcement. Anyone who chooses to run competitive waves, but not compete for prizes will have the option of disqualifying themselves (so as to avoid burpees). This is a good option for someone who is solely interested in being chip timed, or prefers one of the earliest heats. Every runner in these waves will be chip timed, and have to pay the chip timed (competitive) rate. ***If you register after 4-27-2019 you will not receive a t-shirt.

Non-Competitive Wave 8:30 AM

The Non Competitive Waves are our most versatile option with wave starts from 8:30 am until noon. Participants will run the same trail as the Competitive runners with 5k of Mud, Fire, Tires, Nets, Ice and more! This event is for people 12+ who are interested in a non competitive, non timed, "all the mess with half the stress" opportunity. All runners receive a sweet Gretna Gritty T-shirt, medals, lunch, and bragging rights. Team sizes for the non-competitive run are unlimited, so you can invite your friends, family, youth group, and co-workers to join you on the fun! Sign up today! We will be clearing the course this year at 1:30pm - our average runner takes just over an hour to finish but if you'd like more time to be safe - please sign up to be earlier in the day. ***If you register after 4-27-2019 you will not receive a t-shirt.

Nitty Gritty - Kids Run

This event is a blast for the kiddos! Bring your kids (ages 5-11) and they'll enjoy a mile of fun and mud that they'll remember for the rest of their lives! Every child who runs the Nitty Gritty will receive a Gretna Gritty T-shirt, lunch, caked on mud, and smiles for the whole ride home! There are no set wave times for the Nitty Gritty. Just show up any time between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm. ***If you register after 4-27-2018 you will not receive a t-shirt. **Parents may run alongside the Gritty, but know that we will have staff at every element, and keeping kids safe is what we do best at Gretna Glen. *This event is not timed, or competitive.
