About this race
The eighth annual 5K and inaugural 10k is being presented by Leading Edge to benefit Take Heart. Take Heart will use the funds raised by this event to create opportunities for orphans and widows in Kenya to overcome poverty through education and entrepreneurship.
Join fellow runners on September 28, 2024 for the Leading Edge Take Heart 10K/5K. It's a fantastic 5K featuring a flat and fast course in Lakeland.

Leading Edge Take Heart 5K Sleep In
Choose this option if you would rather sleep in but would still like to support a good cause or for those who live out of town or have other plans that day. Shirt sizes can only be guaranteed if you register by Thursday, August 31st. Size options may be limited after this date and shirt availability will be on a first come first served basis while supplies last.
Leading Edge Take Heart 5K Virtual
Choose this option so that you can run anywhere you like! The Virtual Race can be completed in your own neighborhood, at a local park, or even the treadmill. Sign up and then gather some friends, decide on a route, and, of course, plan how you'll celebrate after you rock your 5k. You will receive a race shirt after September 30th. Shirt sizes can only be guaranteed if you register by Thursday, August 31st. Size options may be limited after this date and shirt availability will be on a first come first served basis while supplies last.
