Mountains 2 Beach Marathon and Half
About this race
Uniquely situated and completely surrounded by beautiful mountains, the city of Ojai holds the start of the Mountains 2 Beach Marathon while the half starts closer to the beach. This point to point race winds through the Ventura River Valley as it makes its way to the pristine beaches of the last great surf town in California, Ventura. Runners will love the gradual downhill nature of the race, which is prime to make you faster but not hurt the knees, and the amazing weather of the area. After a final tour of beach front Ventura, runners and their families are treated to a finish line party only steps away from the surf and the shops and restaurants of Historic Downtown Ventura. As a certified Boston Qualifier, the courses, the race and the surrounding communities make for the perfect destination marathon and half.

Kids 1K Fun Run
We always have so much fun with the kids 1k, we just have to do it again!!! Starting on Sat during the packet pickup for the half and the full, kids 12 and under will get the chance to race against their peers in this fun (spectator friendly) route throughout the Ventura County Fairgrounds. ***Course is subject to change without notice.
Full Marathon
Starting in downtown Ojai, you will head east out of town and run through orchards completely surrounded by mountains. Around mile 6 you make your way back into downtown Ojai and head west to a beautiful overlook of the Ventura River Preserve. After a couple miles you will jump on the Ventura River Bike Path and take it to the town of Oak View where you begin running down quiet country roads. Try not to trip as you are looking around at how beautiful the area is. Once in Downtown Ventura you will work your way across our Historic downtown area and come down to the famous Ventura Coast. Views of the Pier and islands would normally make you stop to admire them, but you still have a little ways to go. After running beach front for the next mile plus, you enter the finish line chute just a stones throw from the water to cheers from your friends and new found M2B family. ***Course is subject to change without notice.
Half Marathon
Starting in the sleepy town of Oak View, you begin running down quiet country roads. Try not to trip as you are looking around at how beautiful the area is. Once in Downtown Ventura you will work your way across our Historic downtown area and come down to the famous Ventura Coast. Views of the Pier and islands would normally make you stop to admire them, but you still have a little ways to go. Starting and finishing near the Ventura County Fairgrounds, you will head away from the beach briefly and once in Downtown Ventura you connect with the Half Marathon and Full Marathon routes and will work your way across our Historic downtown area and come back down to the famous Ventura Coast. Views of the Pier and islands would normally make you stop to admire them, but you still have a little ways to go. Marathon Charity Spot
Same thing as a regular registration, so you can still qualify for Boston! We just take extra funds and split up amongst our charity partners. Course ranked one of the most likely to qualify for Boston in the nation by Marathonguide.com! The Clif Bar Mountains 2 Beach Marathon is 26.2 miles of mountain and beachfront scenery. Starting in beautiful downtown Ojai California, the course begins at just over 700 ft. and gradually descends to sea-level over 23 miles, and finishing near the historic Ventura, California Pier. The course is a lightning fast, USATF sanctioned Boston Marathon Qualifier (CA16086RS). ***Course is subject to change without notice.
1/2 Marathon Charity Spot
Same thing as a normal registration, we just take the extra funds and split up amongst our charity partners. The Clif Bar Mountains 2 Beach Half-Marathon is a fast, beautiful, point to point 13.1 mile course. The race starts in the quiet town of Oak View at the half way point of the full marathon and runs gently downhill to the Ventura beachfront finishing just past the historic Ventura Pier with the Clif Bar Mountains 2 Beach Marathon finishers. ***Course is subject to change without notice.
