Can't be at the race but still want to participate? Friday March 16th through Friday March 23rd Start time Whenever you feel like it:) Start: Wherever you are Finish: 13.1 or 26.2 miles from where ever you started! There is nothing like being at the race and experiencing it first hand, but sometimes travel expenses, active military being deployed, or multiple races in 1 weekend can create tough decisions. We want you to be part of the Wrightsville Beach Marathon Madness weekend wherever you are. We highly encourage people from all over the world to run with us celebrating the Marathon Madness weekend and raising some good money for our charities! Of course virtual racing does not take the place of our amazing race experience, but it is a way for you to get involved and also help us out! 5 reasons to Virtual race the #WBMARATHON if you cannot attend We may be biased but we really do have the best swag around! We will post your results You get a custom bib and medal It will push you to get an awesome run that weekend knowing your results are going to be posted:) You will be put in a contest for best finishing picture with our 2018 Without Limits Shamrock Lounge Pants! Who can virtual race? Anybody that wants to run or walk! (no cutoff times) What do you get? All virtual racers will receive a Marathon Madness Bib, a medal for completion, and a pair of our Pajama Pants that all participants receive. If you pre-order a t-shirt (an additional $15.00), you will also receive that in your packet. The virtual race entry includes shipping fees for one time ship. Anything additional that needs shipping will be extra. Are there awards? Virtual racers will be in their own division. They will not be allowed to compete in the actual race divisions. Awards will be based on your best finishing picture. You will hashtag on facebook and instagram #virtualmarathonmadness or @wbmarathon. Our committee will select the top 10 photos and post them. The top 3 photos with the most LIKES will be our top 3 overall! How do I submit my results? A picture of yourself, with your bib and your medal along with a garmin file will be needed to submit your results. Your garmin must be within the dates March 16 - 23 at any time. If you give us a garmin data from another date period, you will not be eligible for awards but you will still receive your packet. Can I Boston Qualify with the virtual race? NO. All Boston Qualifications must be done on a certified course with certified timing.
