Afghan Children's Radio Program Challenge

It is exciting to know the Gospel can be shared through The Tide® broadcasts over radio waves with the people in Afghanistan where 99.9% of them do not have a personal relationship with Jesus.  This year we are kicking off our virtual race challenge with our newest project in Afghanistan as the focus. $13,000 is all it takes for millions of people to have access to the message of the Gospel.   This challenge is to run, walk, bike, swim, paddle, or however else you want to participate to get to the finish line. The goal is 13 miles, one mile for each thousand dollars it takes to fully fund the project. This may sound like a lot . . . BUT WAIT! Life doesn't come easy for many Afghans, so we invite you to accept this challenge that may not come easy to you. Because this is a challenge, and not a traditional race, you are able to break it up over the 2-week period. Doing as little as 1-mile per day will allow you to complete the challenge in the allotted time. Here are some suggestions of ways you may choose to participate: Find a track to run/walk (4 laps = 1 mile) Find a park with trails nearby Go shopping and track your distance for the trip Play a round or two of golf and track your steps for the day Swim laps in a pool (Olympic pool = 16.1 laps/mile or standard pool = 32.2 laps/mile) Any funds raised over our goal will benefit other work we are doing in Afghanistan.

Student Ministry Sponsor

Attention Youth Pastors! If you are looking for a way to introduce your students to the world beyond your church building and help them understand the importance of missions, or perhaps give them an opportunity to practice what you have already taught them, then we invite your student group to partner with us! This year’s Race will benefit our new Pashto language children’s radio show in Afghanistan. This program will cost approximately $13,000 for an entire year of production and broadcasting, which includes studio and airtime costs, the writing and recording of music, and our ‘boots on the ground’ discipleship team who follows up with listeners. Because this new program is geared toward children, we are offering an opportunity for groups of young people to sponsor the event.
