Saint Louis Half Marathon and 5K
About this race
The Saint Louis Half Marathon and 5K returns for its 47th year on Sunday, November 8, 2026.
First run in 1980, this event holds the title of the longest-running half marathon in the St. Louis region, offering runners a classic road race experience through the historic and scenic setting of Forest Park.
THE COURSE
Both the Half Marathon and the 5K start and finish at the Muny Festival Grounds.
START
We use an “Open Start” format, meaning there will be a formal half marathon gun-start at 7:30 AM, but you may start your half marathon race any time between 7:30 and 7:40 AM. For the 5K, there will be a formal gun-start at 8:00 AM, but you may start your 5k race any time between 8:00 and 8:10 AM.
PRIZES & AWARDS
All finishers receive a custom metal medal!
Half Marathon: Prize money awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female overall finishers.
1st place: $500
2nd place: $250
3rd place: $100
Age Group Awards: Recognizing the top 3 finishers in each age group, male and female. Age groups are: 19 & under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
5K: Overall awards for the top 3 male and female finishers only.
PACKET PICKUP
Packet pickup will be held Friday, Nov. 6 at Running Niche, 1601 Tower Grove Avenue, St.Louis, MO 63110.
Packet pickup will be held Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Voyager Room in the Forest Park Visitors Center. Detailed times will be emailed to participants.
Race-day packet pickup will be from 6AM-8AM.

St. Louis Half Marathon
While the ground continues to shift related to COVID-19, we are excited to be advancing forward a plan to make the St. Louis Half Marathon a live and in-person event with an option for runners to do a virtual 13.1 event. This year will be the 49th consecutive year of the St. Louis Classic Road Race. A new course is in store for 2020 Half Marathon runners...details & a course map to be announced soon. Forest Park will again be the centerpiece attraction of the Half Marathon. This year's race starts and finishes on the Blvd. in front of The Muny! * At any point leading up to race day, a Virtual 13.1 runner can upgrade to become a Live 13.1 runner. * Should a Live Event not be permitted or allowed, we will allow all Live 13.1 runners to convert to the Virtual Race or Defer entry to another St. Louis Track Club event, including the 2021 Half Marathon. * If permits are not granted by the City of St. Louis, and registrants choose not to do the Virtual Half Marathon or defer to another St. Louis Track Club event, refunds for the Half Marathon will be made, minus registration fees. * We will be announcing social distancing features as we move closer to the race date. This includes but is not limited to; on course support, staggered start times, and capping the number of Live runners on race day. * St. Louis Track Club MEMBERS, please sign into RunSignUp as a member in order to acquire your race discount. As with any race year, the health and well-being of everyone is our utmost concern and we will keep all event options within the guidelines of the CDC, the State of Missouri, and the City of St. Louis. We also will address the comfort levels of the charities, sponsors, and volunteer teams that are all needed for a successful live event. St. Louis Half Marathon VIRTUAL
Complete your 13.1 mile run between October 15th and November 1st to receive your Finisher Medal and Race Shirt! Your Virtual Run will support The ALS Association-St. Louis Region. You can run 13.1 miles at one time or you can string several runs together to accomplish the goal of running 13.1 miles. Please submit your results using the "results" tab on the menu bar of the website. If you change your mind and would like to run our Live 13.1 race, we will upgrade to the Live Event at any point prior to race morning. You will just pay the difference between your Virtual Registration and the Live Registration fee.
